Overall Theme Fantasy Festivals, Performances, and Mystique
This anthology features boisterous stories with all kinds of merrimaking, jaw-dropping performances, and the allure of the mystery of the Stage. We welcome stories about mystical performers, stagecraft, and the dangers woven through the curtains. Craft stories of drama, intrigue, and poetic justice for the anthology, Summer Feasts, Carnival Tricks.
Theme 1 Juvenile Delights
Craft a story of joy and excitement found in children with this theme set in a world where not everything is what it seems, magic, trust, and all.
Suggested subgenres: middle grade fantasy, action & adventure, isekai fantasy, etc. Any are still welcome!
Theme 2 Sword & Sorcery - the Ultimate Adventure
Craft a story about valiant heroes, dangerous foes, and well-known fantasy archetypes with this theme of magic and blade intersecting to weave even Fate, itself.
Suggested subgenres: high/epic fantasy, romance, adventure, etc. Any are still welcome!
Theme 3 In the Eyes of History
Craft a story through the different lenses across time and space as we traverse through the threads of moments captured in texts, traditions, and talks.
Suggested subgenres: historical fantasy, time travel fantasy, action & adventure, etc. Any are still welcome!
