Icarus,
you foolish boy with a pure heart.
Eyes mirrors of bright light.
Dreaming of the day you would fly high towards the vast sky,
Wanting to ascend into the heavens where Gods prevail.
Spreading your wax wings audaciously towards the scorching sun.
Your father warned you to never desire to reach infinity but, your remarkable curiosity pushed you to sin with hubris.
And like a sinner you fell into the Abyss,
the vast ocean washing away your impious sins.
And I,
my foolish Icarus,
I sit back as I watch you fall so divinely.
You could admire me from afar but chose to test the Gods wrath.
You desired to touch me, while you could have my golden cloak embrace you from afar till the end of your mortal life.
Consuming my warmth until the darkness devoured you.
I warned you,
do not come close to me,
Brutal fate is cast upon those who try their luck with me.
You did love my warmth but you failed to see reality,
Perhaps you were blinded by my halo.
Perhaps you opposed to seek honesty, basking in my obvious warmth.
Icarus,
My beloved boy,
Now I mourn you from here above,
All I have left is a feather of those wax wings of yours,
to remind me of your devoted past love.
