The days had passed and it was finally the last day that Kruno could possibly stay out, which saddened her a little. Of course she knew she could come see them next month, but still, she was not fond of being away from her family.

"We're gonna miss you, Kid." Kisame said as he leaned down and kissed her head gently, Kruno smiled softly at him.

"I'm gonna miss you too, but I'll write, okay? All of you." She said, glancing around the room at her previous teammates.

"You better, un!" Deidara shouted as he got up, and hugged the girl tightly. Kruno and Deidara had never been the best of friends, with him constantly doing things to irritate her and all, but Deidara could admit that without Kruno running around the base it was fairly empty, and quiet without the random outbursts of Tobi and herself.

"I will, I promise." She said as she laughed, hugging him back tightly. The two separated, and the next person to say goodbye was a certain Jashin.

"Fucking slut, you better write us!" He shouted at the short girl, who only laughed and wrapped her arms around him tightly.

"I will." She whispered, and Hidan hugged her close. After that, she went around the room and said goodbye to everyone that had raised her, had had a important part in her childhood, and she couldn't help but feel saddened by leaving them.

But she made a promise to her real family back in Konoha that she would be back, and that she would not let them down again, and she didn't intend too. After her goodbyes were said, Kruno slung her bag on her back, and picked up a small box that had things she needed to bring home with her from the base. (Including pictures of her with everyone, shikamaru's old jacket, a small puppet toy that Sasori had made her, etc.)

She waved bye to everyone as she took off sprinting back to Konoha, chakra infused in her feet to carry her even faster. She was excited to see everyone, but at the same time she was sad to leave. Her emotions were constantly conflicting each other, but she knew that she had made the right decision when she decided to come home for good.

She stopped a lot of hurt, and caused a lot of smiles for the people that she loved, and the people that loved her, and she didn't mind if she was upset about being back, as long as she could stop hurting her family, she would be okay.

Kruno ran and ran back to Konoha, it taking her a little over a full day since she didn't stop to take a breath until she could see the gates in the distance, but since it was night time, the gates to Konoha were closed and she wouldn't be able to get in until morning. She sighed heavily and sat down at the base of tree, crossing her legs over each other at the knee, her arms crossed across her chest as she leaned her head back against the rough bark of the tree.

As the night grew darker, it was beginning to get colder. Kruno shivered slightly as she rubbed her arms in an attempt to keep warm, but nothing seemed to be working. One thing she didn't pack was a long sleeve shirt, or a proper jacket since it was the middle of summer, but she forgot how cold Konoha nights could be. She thought about Shikamaru's jacket for a moment, before she shook her head and sighed. No, it wouldn't be much help because it was short sleeve and not that thick considering her used to wear it everyday, even in the summer.

Eventually, Kruno's body adjusted to the cold, and she sat completely still and it silence, with the occasional twitch of her leg or arm, until sunrise. And the moment the sun rose up, she got and began the very short walk back to Konoha, still rubbing her arms slightly to keep herself warm.

When she arrived at the gates, Shikamaru was already standing there with Izumo and Kotetsu, chatting with them. That is until Izumo pointed down to Kruno, Shikamaru's head turned towards where he pointed, and he smiled softly. With his hands shoved lazily in the pockets of his pants, he strolled towards his love, and the smile on his lips only grew when he felt her small arms wrap around her waist, and her nose nuzzle against his chest.
