Backstage, the atmosphere was thick with competition as the contestants prepared for the Konoha Pageant. But of course, nothing could go without a little drama. Sakura and Ino, as expected, were already bickering.

“I can’t believe you’re entering this pageant, Ino!” Sakura hissed, her arms crossed tightly, clearly irritated. “This is a serious event, not some beauty contest for attention!”

“Oh, come on, Sakura,” Ino shot back, hands on her hips, “admit it, you’re just jealous because I’m actually going to win. This isn’t your thing, anyway. I mean, how could you be a beauty queen with all that attitude?” Ino flashed a smirk, clearly loving every second of getting under Sakura’s skin.

“I don’t need to waste my time fighting with you, Ino,” Sakura retorted, not backing down. “You think you’re all that, but let’s see how long that lasts.”

I quickly stepped in, giving them both an exaggerated, playful look. “Alright, alright, ladies! We have a pageant to win, and I’m pretty sure no one’s going to crown the most ‘feisty’ contestant here.” I winked. “So, save the drama for the stage, okay?”

Both girls huffed in unison but couldn’t help the small smirk that appeared on their faces at my teasing. There was still tension, but we were all here for fun—well, at least that’s what I was telling myself.

As I finished talking to Sakura and Ino, I was about to start preparing for my turn when I heard a voice behind me.

“(Y/n), you know, I’ve gotta say… you’re going to blow everyone away with that look of yours. Seriously, I might just give up and vote for you myself!” Ino said, eyes sparkling.

I turned around and raised an eyebrow at her. “You, voting for me? Are you sure you’re not secretly plotting against me, Ino?”

She chuckled, giving me a wink. “No way! I might be competitive, but you’ve got that aura, you know? You’ve got that winning energy. Plus, you’re just—well, you’re you!”

I blinked in surprise. “Is that your way of complimenting me? Flattery won’t get you anywhere, Ino.”

She grinned widely. “Maybe not, but it’s the truth! You’re like Konoha’s secret weapon, only in beauty queen form.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at her enthusiasm. “Flattery or not, you’ll have to beat me in the contest first, won’t you?” I teased, winking at her.

Ino’s smile softened as she looked at me with admiration. “I’m just saying, you’re going to steal the show. And I’ll be cheering for you every step of the way!” she said, giving me a thumbs up. “But don’t get too comfortable, okay? I’ve got my eyes on that crown.”

The first round of the pageant began with the catwalk, and each contestant was to show off their best costumes. As the music played, the spotlight hit, and one by one, the girls strutted down the stage.

Ino was first, wearing a sleek, form-fitting outfit that showed off her usual confidence. “And here comes the ever-popular Ino Yamanaka, always sure of herself and ready to steal the show!” the host announced, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. Ino winked at the audience, confident in her beauty.

Next up was Sakura, who had chosen a more elegant yet bold look, embodying strength and grace. “Sakura Haruno, a shinobi who is both fierce and lovely. She’s come a long way from the academy!” the host remarked, earning a loud cheer from the crowd. Sakura flashed a smile, clearly proud of her progress.

Hinata followed, her shy demeanor evident in her soft steps. “Hinata Hyuga, known for her quiet strength and unshakable loyalty. Truly a woman of grace and heart,” the host said gently, his words causing the audience to cheer softly in appreciation. Hinata blushed but smiled, grateful for the recognition.
