[Third Person's POV]
The early morning air was crisp as (Y/n) stood across from Kakashi in the secluded training ground. Sweat dripped from her brow, her breath heavy as she focused her chakra into her eyes. Over the past few days, she had been steadily gaining control over her Mangekyō Sharingan. It was no longer a burden that activated out of distress but a weapon she could call upon when needed.
“Good. You’re improving faster than I expected,” Kakashi praised, lowering his arm after their latest sparring session. “Your ability to perceive movements has sharpened, and your chakra control is adapting well.”
(Y/n) let out a tired breath, rubbing her eyes as she deactivated the Sharingan. “Still drains a lot of chakra, though.”
“That’s normal. Even for an Uchiha, the Mangekyō comes with a heavy toll.” Kakashi observed her with a knowing gaze. “But that’s not the only weight you’re carrying, is it?”
She stiffened at his words but forced a small smile. “I’m fine, Kakashi-sensei.”
He didn’t push her further, but the way his single eye lingered on her made it clear—he wasn’t convinced.
That evening, (Y/n) returned home, exhausted from training, when a familiar knock echoed at her door. She opened it to find Neji standing there, his arms crossed but his expression softer than usual.
“Come with me,” he said simply.
She blinked. “Huh?”
“Just come.”
Too tired to argue, she followed him. They walked in silence through the village until they arrived at a small clearing where Tenten and Lee were waiting. The moment they saw her, Lee practically exploded with enthusiasm.
“(Y/N)-SAN! WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU!” he declared, striking his usual passionate pose. “YOU HAVE BEEN TOO SERIOUS LATELY, AND THAT IS NOT THE FLAME OF YOUTH YOU ALWAYS CARRY! THUS, WE SHALL BRING BACK YOUR SMILE!”
(Y/n) stared. “Lee, I—”
“NO NEED TO THANK ME! I, ROCK LEE, HAVE PREPARED A FULL EVENING OF JOYFUL ACTIVITIES! FIRST—A PUSH-UP COMPETITION TO IGNITE YOUR YOUTH!”
Tenten sighed. “Lee, I told you that’s not how you cheer someone up—”
“NONSENSE! NOTHING BRINGS JOY LIKE TRAINING!”
Before (Y/n) could react, Lee dramatically dropped to the ground and started doing push-ups at an inhuman speed. “ONE! TWO! THREE! YOUTH! FOUR! FIVE! HAPPINESS! SIX! POSITIVE ENERGY!”
(Y/n) deadpanned. “Is he… saying affirmations while doing push-ups?”
Tenten groaned. “Yeah. Just let him tire himself out.”
Neji sighed. “Unfortunately, that may take a while.”
Seeing her unimpressed expression, Lee leaped to his feet and pointed at her with a determined gleam in his eyes. “Very well! If physical challenges do not amuse you, I SHALL TURN TO THE ART OF COMEDY!”
(Y/n) raised an eyebrow. “Lee, you’re not exactly a comedian.”
Lee grinned, then dramatically flipped his hair back like an elegant noblewoman. In the worst high-pitched voice imaginable, he cooed, “Oh, Neji-kun~ How dashing you look in your Hyuga robes today~!”
Neji’s eye twitched. “Lee—”
Lee then dramatically flung himself onto (Y/n), gripping her hands with exaggerated passion. “And YOU, (Y/n)-chan! How tragic, how dramatic! Your love triangle with two prodigies—Neji and Sasuke—DOOMED BY DESTINY!”
