(Y/n)'s POV
The battle raged across the battlefield. I could barely see through the torrents of water created by Kisame’s jutsu, the force of the currents threatening to sweep me away.
Kisame laughed, his deep voice rumbling over the waves as he loomed over us, his Samehada gleaming in the dim light. “You brats are persistent,” he sneered, his grip tightening on his weapon. “But your time’s up.”
I could barely make out Team Gai—Lee, Neji, and Tenten—trapped in Water Prisons, their movements sluggish. Neji's Byakugan eyes were sharp with focus, but even he couldn't break free, his chakra struggling against the crushing force of Kisame’s water clones.
And then there was Gai-sensei—a blur of motion as he clashed with Kisame. His nunchaku whirled through the air, but every strike was deflected by Kisame’s sword. The water shifted violently as Kisame used his Water Shark Bullet Technique, forcing Gai-sensei beneath the surface.
Kisame didn’t stop there. He formed hand seals. "Water Release: Five Feeding Sharks."
The moment the jutsu was cast, five enormous sharks materialized in the water and surged toward Gai-sensei, their jaws snapping hungrily.
I grit my teeth. I can’t just stand here.
I moved. Ignoring the swirling currents, I wove hand signs as quickly as I could, gathering my chakra. I couldn't overpower Kisame's jutsu, but I could weaken it.
"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Bomb!"
I exhaled a stream of fire straight into the water, creating scalding bubbles of steam that erupted in the sharks’ paths. The heat caused them to waver for a second—but it wasn’t enough. The water, Kisame’s domain, would always overpower my fire.
I needed to change tactics.
I moved toward Neji first. He was focusing his chakra, trying to disrupt the water clone that held him in place. I had an idea—but it was risky.
I quickly pulled out a kunai and coated it with chakra before slashing at the water surrounding him. “Neji! Release your chakra at the same time!”
Understanding my plan immediately, Neji focused his chakra outward. The moment I cut through the jutsu, he released a burst of chakra, shattering the water clone.
With his Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm, Neji struck the water prisons holding Lee and Tenten, freeing them.
“We’re back in this fight!” Lee declared, shaking off the water and grinning.
Tenten flipped her kunai. “Let’s finish this guy.”
I turned toward Gai-sensei, still underwater, and felt panic creep in. He had taken hits from the sharks, but he wasn’t giving up. Then, suddenly—
A violent surge of chakra exploded from beneath the water.
The force of it was enough to push the water away, creating a vacuum. His body glowed with raw energy, and as he leaped into the air, the water shot upwards with him.
Kisame scowled. “Tch. That’s a pain.”
Gai didn’t hesitate. His fists blurred as he moved at inhuman speed, striking Kisame with his Morning Peacock.
The sheer heat and power of the attack set the air ablaze, overwhelming Kisame as he was blasted back.
Lee, Neji, and Tenten moved in sync, launching a coordinated attack to force Kisame on the defensive. And I wasn’t going to be left behind.
Using my speed, I flickered behind Kisame’s water clones before they could reform and threw a barrage of explosive tags.
BOOM!
