FOUR KILLED AS AMBULANCE DRIVEN OFF TEXAS HIGHWAY ON NEW YEAR'S DAY
Cloud Street heiress in critical condition

Fort Worth — 2017's opening minutes saw a double-vehicle crash involving an ambulance on Texas State Highway 33 killing both drivers and sending three to the hospital with severe injuries, including newly-minted Cloud Street Inc. heiress Charlotte St. Clair, 31, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds prior to the collision.

CCTV footage indicate that the British national was enroute to Texas Health when a speeding Ford Focus rammed into the rear right corner of her ambulance, flipping it off the road. Christopher Drake, her bodyguard, 37, and Kylie Turner, paramedic, 24, were pronounced dead upon arrival at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. St. Clair remains in critical condition.

St. Clair was shot at a New Year's Eve party in the Dallas district near her Texas home earlier that night. The incident left three dead and five others injured, including two college students and one high school teacher. All victims have been admitted to Texas Health for treatment.

According to social media accounts, shots were fired at approximately ten minutes to midnight. However, no shooter was spotted.

Authorities are still investigating the cause for both incidents, but they do not rule out that they could be linked.

"Given the proximity of these events, we have reason to suspect a connection," said Fort Worth Police Chief Adam De Luca. "We will not rule out anything."

The mayor is set to give his statement at the City Hall press conference this afternoon at 2 p.m. CT.

GUNMAN RESPONSIBLE FOR ROUTE 33 AMBULANCE CRASH
At least one accomplice suspected

Fort Worth — An ambulance was run off Texas State Highway 33 on New Year's Day around 12.13 a.m. local time. Two of five victims were found dead on site, including ambulance driver Damien O'Niel, 35, and New Mexico resident Juan Gomez, 43. Of the three sent to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, only one survived.

Gomez was behind the wheel of his Ford Focus when he collided with the back right corner of the ambulance, sending the latter flying off the road and himself straight into the barricade. An autopsy confirms he was killed on impact.

Fort Worth Police unearthed a modified MK 13 sniper rifle in a hidden compartment in the trunk of Gomez's car. Ballistic evidence indicates the firearm amongst those involved in the shooting at a countdown party in the Dallas district earlier that night, with fingerprints incriminating Gomez as one of the shooters.

Forensics experts have further established that the weapon matches bullets recovered from four of the nine shooting casualties, including British Charlotte St. Clair. The remaining two firearms responsible for the injuries of five other victims were not found at Gomez's place of residence or around crime scene, suggesting at least one accomplice, Colonel John Lincoln told The Dallas Express's correspondent.

St. Clair, recent and unexpected inheritor of Cloud Street Inc., a Texas-based company with diversified stakes worldwide, is believed to be the target of the shooting, though the authorities fail to comment on any motive. The 31-year-old is still in intensive care.

Police are tirelessly hunting possible accessories to this heinous offence. Colonel Lincoln urges any witnesses to come forward to their local authorities.
