SURPISE AGAIN?!!!
Six months had passed since the chaotic night that had changed everything. Munira's life had been a whirlwind of emotional, physical, and spiritual healing. She had faced darkness head-on and had come out the other side, stronger than ever. But now, as she stood in the living room of her parents' house, a different kind of calm washed over her.
The weight of the past had shifted. She was no longer that terrified, broken woman. She was someone who had rebuilt herself, piece by piece. And now, her body and heart were giving her something new to cherish—a child.
Her rounded belly was a symbol of hope, of resilience. She placed her hand over it gently, a soft smile tugging at her lips. The baby inside her, the life she carried, was the light she had fought so hard to find. Hisham had been by her side every step of the way, and though they had not yet decided on everything, there was no doubt in either of their minds that they would be together through this journey—no matter what.
"Are you okay?" Hisham's voice broke through her thoughts. He appeared in the doorway, his face glowing with warmth as he looked at her, his hand resting protectively on her back.
Munira nodded, turning to him. "I'm better than okay. I've never felt more at peace."
It was true. The past still stung, but now, it had become part of her story—no longer something that defined her but a chapter that had brought her to where she was. Her gaze drifted toward the window, watching the trees sway in the light breeze outside. She knew that healing wasn't linear, but with Hisham's support and the love of her family, the scars had become something she could live with, not something that controlled her.
The doorbell rang, and Munira's heart skipped a beat. It was the day of the baby shower her family had planned for her, a celebration that she had been hesitant to allow at first but had eventually embraced. She turned toward Hisham, a laugh escaping her lips. "Here we go, the grand event."
Hisham smirked, walking to the door and opening it to reveal her parents, her brothers, and a few close friends, all with smiles and gifts. Zayd and Asiya, now officially a couple, were there too, as was Eeman and Kamal. The room was filled with people she loved, people who had walked with her through the worst of times and had been there for her through her healing.
"Surprise!" her mother exclaimed, her arms wide as she stepped in to hug Munira. "We're so glad you're here to celebrate this new chapter with us."
Munira's heart swelled as she hugged her mother back, taking a deep breath as she let herself enjoy the moment.
The next few hours passed in a blur of laughter, games, and gifts. There were heartfelt speeches, some funny moments, and even a few tears—tears of joy, of course. As she sat in a cozy chair, her hands resting on her belly, she marveled at how different her life was from just six months ago. It was like she had stepped into a completely new world.
