SEB POV:
I WAS going to kill Kylle Winston. No—scratch that. He wouldn’t even make it to Monday.
I clenched my jaw as I stared at my phone screen, my fingers furiously typing.
[Council Members GC]
Sebastian: "On Monday, I will personally see to it that Kylle and that mysterious woman face the consequences of their actions. No one shall be spared. This is a betrayal of the highest order. Do you all understand me? THE HIGHEST ORDER."
Michael: "Seb, please, this isn’t a crime—"
Sarah: "Yeah, I mean, it sucks, but it’s not like they broke a school rule?"
Jackson: "Right. It’s a personal issue, not a council issue."
Sebastian: "EXCUSE ME???? Are you all implying that this is NOT a serious matter? That as STUDENT LEADERS, we should just stand idly by while this type of deception and moral corruption festers within our campus??"
Emily: "No one’s saying that—"
Sebastian: "DO YOU THINK THE STUDENT BODY WILL NOT BE AFFECTED?? DO YOU THINK THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME, YOUR PRESIDENT, WHO HAS BEEN BACKSTABBED AND EMOTIONALLY COMPROMISED???"
Daisy: "Bro, you are not the entire student body—"
Sebastian: "SILENCE, FOOLS!"
The chat was dead silent.
For a few glorious seconds, I basked in my righteous anger. Let them tremble. Let them know fear.
But then, I decided that I had wasted enough time on heartbreak. I had more important matters to handle.
Sebastian: "Enough of this. Give me the reports. Where are we with the upcoming exams? What are the schedules for every grade level?"
Gil: "Wait—huh? Why are we suddenly talking about this—"
Sebastian: "I will NOT have us slacking off just because of some minor SCANDAL. I expect the full updates NOW."
Arnold: "Minor—Seb, you were literally sobbing five minutes ago."
Sebastian: "I do not recall such a thing. Now REPORT."
There was a long pause before they finally started dropping the necessary updates. Good.
I went through each of them with precision and grace (if I do say so myself), correcting their incompetence when necessary.
When I was finally satisfied, I logged off without another word.
Let them suffer in silence.
I turned off my phone and gently placed it on my nightstand, releasing a deep sigh.
The room was dark, illuminated only by the dim glow from the streetlights outside. The only sound was the quiet hum of the air conditioner and the steady breathing of the person beside me.
Mark was fast asleep, his bare shoulders rising and falling beneath the blanket that covered both our naked body.
I pouted, biting my lip as my emotions resurfaced like an unstoppable wave.
The ache in my chest was unbearable.
I turned onto my side, gripping my pillow tightly before burying my face into it, muffling my sobs. My shoulders trembled as I let the pain wash over me.
