。◕‿◕。。◕‿◕。。◕‿◕。

It was a lazy afternoon, the kind where the world outside seemed to slow down just enough to give you permission to do absolutely nothing.

I was sprawled across my bed, eyes glued to the TV screen, watching Jurassic Park for the hundredth time. I knew every line, every beat of tension, but it still felt like the first time every time I watched it.

Can't blame myself, it's my favorite after all.

There was something about dinosaurs, the thrill of adventure, the classic escape from reality. It was my little corner of peace, my escape.

That is, until it was shattered.

The door to my room suddenly flew open with a bang, startling me so much that I nearly dropped the remote. Before I could even register what was happening, two small figures burst into the room, giggling and shrieking as they made a beeline toward me.

Ugh,why are they here?

“Cousin!” Micky squealed, throwing herself on the bed beside me, followed closely by her twin, Kayce.

“Cousin! Cousin!” Kayce echoed as she clambered up the bed, tiny hands grabbing at the blankets.

I sighed, though it wasn’t exactly a bad sigh. More like one of those ‘well, there goes my quiet time’ sighs. I tried to keep my cool as they began their usual antics, poking me, tugging at my shirt, and giggling about some inside joke I wasn’t a part of.

Micky, with her wild hair that was always in some state of untameable, stood up on the bed and attempted to jump near me, landing awkwardly on my legs. “Watch out!” I grumbled, shifting to move my leg out of her way. But she only giggled louder.

Kayce, the quieter but no less mischievous of the two, was already rifling through my stuff, pulling at the DVD cases stacked on the shelf near my bed. “What’s this one? Is it scary? Ooh, can we watch this?” she asked, holding up a case with wide, curious eyes.

I shot her a quick glance, not wanting to let my frustration show. “That one’s too old for you,” I muttered, though I knew they weren’t listening to me at this point. “Shouldn’t you two be playing in the living room?”

“Nooo, we want to stay here with you!” Micky said, her eyes sparkling mischievously as she tossed a pillow at my head.Ouch.

Just as I was about to get up and shoo them out, the door creaked open again, and in walked Justin.

Oh,here we go now.

He was taller than me, a lot taller, with a lazy grin on his face and his typical air of indifference. Justin was the older brother of these two little gremlins, and unlike them, he wasn’t the hyperactive type. He had a much more laid-back approach to being annoying.

“Hey,” he said in that slow, casual drawl of his as he walked over to the bed.

I didn’t even have time to react before he was sitting next to me, his warm body pressing against mine. He nuzzled his face into my neck, which was something he had always done for as long as I could remember.

It used to make me laugh when we were kids, but now it just made me feel uncomfortable, especially with the twins wreaking havoc around us.

It feels intimate.

“Justin, seriously?” I muttered, crossing my arms over my chest, trying to keep some semblance of personal space. But Justin just ignored me, as usual, wrapping his long arms around me and nuzzling further into my neck. I could feel his breath against my skin, which was warm and oddly comforting, even though I didn’t want it to be.
