SEB POV:
My hands were sweaty against the wheel, my pulse racing as I sped through the empty roads. No traffic, no delays—just me, the engine, and the growing dread clawing at my chest.
My body ache from the earlier 'exercise' me and Mark did, Mark promised me to meet up at the school on Monday and I said yes to him, our relationship is getting complicated and I don't know how to fix this kind of situation in my life.
I inhale then exhale, trying to calm myself as my thoughts drifted now to Arkie who had send me 26 messages and an 42 missed calls, it was probably while me and Mark was fucking. Now, I'm fucked up, really really fucked up.
I needed to make an excuse—a lie.
I should’ve thought of a better lie to tell him.
I should’ve turned back, should’ve—
I didn't even realize that I have already arrived back at our estate, I shook my head slightly trying to bring myself all focus to what's to come.
The gates loomed ahead me, the moment the guards saw me, they stepped aside, opening the massive iron doors without question.
What should I do now?
I inhaled sharply, forcing my usual genuine smile as I nodded toward them. “Morning.”
Yeah, like that Seb,act cool.
“Good morning, young master.”
I parked in our lot and stayed there.
Fingers tightening around the steering wheel, I tried to steady my breathing. I needed a story. A reason. A lie that Arkie would believe.
Schoolwork. Will he even believe that?
Maybe I could—
I exhaled through my nose and finally stepped out.
As I approached the front doors, the maids and butlers greeted me politely, their voices soft and welcoming as usual.
“Good morning, young master.”
“Morning,” I murmured back, my steps slowing slightly as I entered the house.
And then—I saw him.
Oh fuck.
Arkie.
He was standing in the main hall, dressed in a sleek black turtleneck and trousers, his silver watch glinting under the morning light. His dark hair was styled neatly, sharp and refined, and he looked every bit the perfect, put-together heir of his family.
And he was laughing.
Next to him, in his usual messy pajamas, Tristian was grinning, clearly entertained by whatever joke Arkie had just made.
They hadn’t noticed me yet.
My heart is pounding inside me, I'm honestly scared that I can't even walk properly, except the fact that Mark has fucked me earlier.
Arkie looked good. Too good. Like nothing had happened. Like he hadn’t sent me 26 messages and 42 missed calls just hours ago.
For a brief second, I hesitated.
Then—Arkie’s gaze flicked up, locking onto mine.
He finally noticed me, Oh no.
The amusement in his eyes disappeared.
