In the afternoon: The Butler, Fighting Valiantly

*3rd pov*

The ship cuts in half.

"Th-The ship has split in two!" A noble points out. The front part of the ship falls down where some of the nobles are there.

Sebastian jumps up, holding Ciel, and (Y/n) in her cat form. "It does not seem that the bow here will hold for long either!" Sebastian runs to the top while some guests fall into the ocean. Sebastian grabs a life float. "Young master." Sebastian puts the life float on Ciel. "Take a deep breath!" Sebastian instructs. "Eh!? Wha–?"

"The situation being what it is, please do forgive me!" Sebastian lifts up Ciel. "Better not drown." (Y/n) tells him. "What are you d...UWAAAAAH!" Ciel screams as Sebastian throws him.

The ship sinks.

*Meanwhile*

Grell floats in the ocean. A familiar death scythe goes to Grell. "To think you can't even reap souls properly... Good grief." William picks up Grell and places her in the boat and on top of Ronald. "Did you allow laziness to get the better of you during your suspension? I'm not even part of dispatch, and yet here I am, a member of management, out in the field. I really do wish you'd give me some thought to how I feel. Why, I shan't be able to clock out on time once again... dash it all. Wake up! Grell Sutcliff! Ronald Knox!" William kicks them.

"Owww... –Oh, Wiiiill~! ♡ You came to get me!!" Grell gets up, notices Will with her heart eyes, and rushes to him but Will dodges and Grell lands into the ocean again. "I have not come here to get anybody. I have come here to clean up after a good-for-nothing employee who can't do his job. We will set to the work of retrieval without delay, do you hear?" William stabs Grell's forehead. "But...! We're all worn out, in case you hadn't noticed..." Ronald complains. 

"The duty of a Grim Reaper is to collect souls reliably and punctually, whatever the situation." William scolds them. "That colder-than-the-sea gaze you're leveling at me as you trample my individual rights–! It's making my body do just the opposite! I'm burning up!" Grell gushes. "You sure seem to be rarin' to go, Mister Sutcliff, sir~!" Ronald said.

"I will require you to return headquarters and submit your report immediately after we've finished our collections here. Your report on the transgressor, that is." William adjusts his glasses.

*With Ciel*

"Ugh......" Ciel clutches the chair and shivers. 'It hurts. My body feels like it's being stabbed all over by ice. My limbs... won't move—' Ciel slides down into the water. Sebastian grabs Ciel in time and brings him up. "BWAH! HRRK! KOFF!" Ciel coughs out the water as (Y/n) helps him on the boat. "They must have been unable to lower the lifeboats in time. So I have come with one I borrowed from the sinking ship." Sebastian explains. "Put this on." (Y/n) hands Ciel her jacket "I do apologize that I cannot prepare some hot tea for you. Please bear with it for the time being." Sebastian tells him.

Ciel turns to look at the people screaming for help. "Damn, they still fight even in the water." (Y/n) holds Ciel close to give him warmth. "If we go back, this boat will be dragged down as well. Let us depart." Sebastian pushes the boat as he swims. 'My hair... has turned to ice... I'm sleepy...' Ciel nods off which the two notice. "! Young master! You must not fall aslee–!? Wha–!!?" Sebastian turns to see a corpse holding his leg and takes a bite. "Kuh!" Sebastian kicks her head.

 "These things can move in water!?" Ciel is shocked. "They're dead. They don't need to breathe, so they can't drown." (Y/n) gets close to Sebastian. "That means–" Sebastian covers Ciel's mouth. "Hush! Be quiet!" They see bubbles forming in the water as the corpses emerge up to the water. "D–Don't tell me... ...these are all–!? Get in Sebastian!" Ciel orders. (Y/n) pulls Sebastian to the boat and almost misses the bite of another corpse. The corpses try to climb the boat. "Kuh!" Sebastian quickly uses the paddle and smashes the heads. "Uwah...!" A hand grabs Ciel which (Y/n) kicks the corpse's head. "J-Just how many of them are here!?" Ciel questions. "I cannot say... however... ...they will likely only search for souls until their bodies are no more... and that means... the sole living human in this vicinity, young master." Sebastian said.

Ciel looks at the corpses then at the boats that are away from them. "Then... ...we can't run... if we do, Lizzy and the other survivors will be targeted. We can't expose them to danger... call it good fortune or ill... ...they seem only to attack the soul nearest to them! We will stop them here. You two can do it, can't you, Sebastian? (Y/n)?" Ciel asked them. "You do not need to ask your servant. Simply command what you will of me." Sebastian said. "As long as I get a good long sleep once this is over." (Y/n) said. Ciel takes off his eyepatch. "I command you, Sebastian. (Y/n). EXTERMINATE THEM!!" Ciel orders. "Yes, my lord. We will pitch around a bit. Do please hang on to the boat!"

(Y/n) grabs Sebastian's wrist and sinks her fangs to drink his blood. Sebastian uses the paddle to smash the heads then summons his weapon from his wrist to throw at the corpses' heads. "I have to get off the boat!" (Y/n) announces. "What!?" Sebastian and Ciel look at her. "What I have is something that would destroy the boat!" (Y/n) jumps into the water. "(Y/N)!!" The two scream for her. Sebastian keeps destroying the heads while Ciel searches for (Y/n). (To be honest, I forgot about the weapon. I was planning on using it for the Undertaker fight, but I completely forgot so time to use it here.)

Until....

A giant black lion emerges and roars loudly. Sebastian and Ciel looked at the lion in disbelief. (I don't care about the lion or lioness different appearance. I only kept it because it looks cool.) "(Y/n)...?" Ciel questions as she claws and chomps the corpses' heads off. Sebastian joins her in destroying the heads with the paddle and his weapon. "How amusing... even in death, humans continue to attempt to kick others down to obtain that which they desire. What truly avaricious beings!!"

*With the survivors*

"Wh-Whose voice is this...?" A worker questions. "What on earth is going on...?" A nobleman wonders. "Was that a roar just now?" Another noble question. "There may be more survivors! Let's turn the boat around." Edward said. "That's impossible! It's too dangerous to move around carelessly in the dark. And if those monsters are still alive..." A worker tells Edward.

"I'm scaaared..." A little girl cries as her mother holds her. "Smile... Kitty..." Snake mutters. Joker and Dagger hold Snake close to them. '(Y/n)... please... come back to me...' Dagger pleads. 'Please be 'afe... (Y/n)...' Joker looks ahead as he comforts his brothers. "Ciel!" Edward holds Lizzy.

*Dawn*

The water is filled with blood and corpses floating. Sebastian is covered in blood along with (Y/n) as she's back to her human form. "Is it... over?" Ciel questions. Sebastian drops the paddle and his weapon disappears back to his wrist then falls to his knees. "Sebastian!" Ciel shouts and (Y/n) goes to his side. "The blow of the Death Scythe... was hard, even for me." Sebastian clutches his wound. "No kidding, I'm going to feel this for weeks." (Y/n) groans.

"The Undertaker... what on earth was he after...?" Ciel wonders as he looks at the chain. "That is beyond my comprehension, but... as long as you keep that chain of hair lockets, I trust you will see him again, young master. He seemed to have no intention of harming you, young master... ...but I personally can do without that reunion." Sebastian coughs. "!" Both Ciel and (Y/n) look at him in alarm. "This is the first time I've seen you in such a state." Ciel said. "No kidding. Nothing should phase you." (Y/n) said. "Pardon me for being so ungraceful... I am unfit to be the butler of the Phantomhive Family and for not being a proper Eve." Sebastian bows.

*HONNNK*

Ciel turns to see a ship. "It's a rescue boat." The three look at the ship coming their way. "......Sebastian. I can't afford to have the butler of the Phantomhive Family stay in that state forever. Make sure you rest up when we return to the manor. You did well today." Ciel informs him. "Young master... please stop. I cannot believe I am hearing you say these words... I would prefer not to encounter a storm after this." Sebastian said. The sun rises which (Y/n) automatically transforms into a cat and goes to Sebastian. "Just take the offer. You really need it."
