Skips to lunch

Nobody's Pov

Lunch was loud-too loud. The cafeteria buzzed with laughter and conversation, but all of it felt distant to Y/n. She sat with her friend group, pushing her food around her tray, doing everything in her power to avoid looking up. Avoid looking at him.

Treyvon was near, posted up with the boys, his usual cocky presence filling the space. She could feel his eyes on her, but she refused to acknowledge it.

Damarion, on the other hand, wasn't having it.

Dari: "Yo, what's up with you? You zoning out and ain't even paying me no mind. If you gon' be thinkin' bout somebody, it better be me."

Y/n blinked, snapping out of it. She rolled her eyes, forcing a smirk.

Y/n: "Boy, nobody thinkin' bout you."

Damarion scoffed, draping an arm over her shoulder, pulling her into him.

Dari: "Mhm. Keep lyin'."

Before Y/n could shove him off, a firm grip wrapped around her wrist. She barely had time to react before Zemari yanked her up from the table.

Ari: "Come on, we gotta talk."

Y/n groaned but didn't fight it. Zemari was already leading her toward the bathrooms, weaving through the crowd like she was on a mission.

Inside the bathroom, Ari let go of Y/n and folded her arms, staring her down.

Ari: "Alright, spill. Wassup with you? You been actin' weird all day."

Y/n leaned against the sink, exhaling.

Y/n: "It's nothin', I swear."

Ari gave her a dead stare.

Ari: "Try again."

Y/n hesitated, pressing her lips together. She couldn't just say it. Couldn't just admit that Treyvon had been in her head since this morning.

Ari sighed, shaking her head.

Ari: "Girl, don't think I ain't peep what's been going on. And before you even try to lie-" she pointed her long coffin nail at Y/n, "-let me remind you, Treyvon was just askin' about you last week."

Y/n's brows furrowed.

Y/n: "What?"

Ari smirked knowingly.

Ari: "Mhm. He came up to me talmbout, 'What's wrong with Y/n?' Like he don't know damn well he the problem."

Y/n's stomach flipped, but she kept her face blank.
Y/n: "And what you say?"

Ari shrugged.

Ari: "I said, 'Why you askin' me like you ain't the reason?' And you know what he did? Smirked. That's how I knew his ass guilty."

Y/n sighed, gripping the edge of the sink.

Y/n: "Man... I don't even know what to do no more."

Ari: "Well, for starters, stop actin' like you ain't got this boy wrapped around your finger."

Y/n scoffed.

Y/n: "Girl, please."

Ari stepped closer, lowering her voice.

Ari: "Nah, frl. That boy want you. Bad."

Y/n sucked her teeth, shaking her head.

Y/n: "Girl, you sound crazy. Treyvon don't like me."
