A few weeks later Bella woke up from a text from Chris saying that he needed a break. Bella didn't really know why or where this was coming from but she guess she understood. Bella started to get scared all over again because when one of her ex's told her he wanted a break, it ended with a breakup eventually. She didn't want to think too much of it so she didn't make it a big deal. Chris said he just needed to focus on football a little bit more and then he could get back in a relationship.
Bella didn't really feel sad or anything because she knew they were going to get back together, she didn't have any worries. Eventually she started to notice how he would flirt here and there on social media but she didn't want to let him know it got to her considering the fact that they wasn't really together. She really started to miss him because they wasn't really talking during the break. Chris sends her a text every now and then to check up on her and to let her know he misses her. Getting a text every now and then didn't work for Bella, she's use to them talking all day everyday so it was driving her crazy.
Two weeks into the break Bella wakes up to another message from Chris. It read "I can't do this anymore. I really do love you but I like the feeling of being single too much and it just feels too good and that's not the only reason, I just need to focus on football for the summer". Bella was still really half sleep when she read it so it didn't hit her too bad. She didn't want to show him how hurt she was so all she said was "ok". By her only saying ok, it made Chris really mad. Chris felt like she didn't care that they were over and it was whatever, but that wasn't true.
Bella and Chris started to argue because of her response. "What you expect me to do ? sit here and cry and beg for you to stay with me ? That's not going to happen. Yes I'm sad but do whatever you want to do, the same thing happened last time when somebody wanted to go on a break with me. I'm use to it, it's the same thing". Chris told her no it wasn't the same because he's taking a break for football and the other guy didn't. She said whatever and they went their separate ways. Chris didn't feel like he was making the right choice but he went with it since it was already done.
Later that day is when it really started to hit Bella. She never cried so much before, she felt so torn apart like somebody ripped her heart right out of her. Bella didn't know how to handle the pain so she stayed to herself for a few hours. She talked to her best friend Ashley for comfort, it didn't really help but it eased the pain just a little bit. Poor Bella cried to Ashely for hours.
On Twitter that night she saw that Chris really didn't care about her after all, it's like he was waiting to break up with her for the longest. Seeing his tweet "y'all can have the relationships, I want food" broke her more than she already was. Bella cried the whole day, it's like she lost her best friend. Bella had another friend that she was also talking to to make her feel better but it wasn't working. Her friend got Chris to talk to her one last time.
Chris told her that this wasn't forever. They were going to get back together just not at the moment and he needs Bella to understand that. After hearing that Bella finally stopped crying since she knew it was hope for them after all. She went to sleep because she was tired of crying and she felt so drained. Her eyes was a little puffy so she needed a good night rest.
As a few days went by Bella knew it was over deep down, she saw how much Chris was moving on while flirting with so many girls on social media. Bella saw the real Chris, the person he really was before they got together or even met. She saw why none of his relationships worked, he flirted with everybody and that made her think. "Was Chris really ever all mine to begin with ?" she asked herself. She finally saw he didn't break up with her for football, he left her to hoe around.
