I woke early. Today is the day! Ugh.
My phone started ringing. I pick it up, and seeing Zandra's number, I answer.
"Hey."
"Hello, I'm coming to your room to get you." She said, and hung up.
A knock sounded on my door. Smiling, I stood up and opened it to see her beautiful smile.
She looked shocked suddenly. And I realized that I am just in tight, spandex boxer briefs. No pants. No shirt. Crap.
"Um, I'm sorry ab--"
"Just let me in and get ready!" She exclaimed, laughing.
I stepped to the side to let her in. When I turned around she was looking at all the claw mark scars all over me. Almost all of me is covered in scars. But she's never seen the ones on my back, chest, and legs.
"That bad, huh?" I asked.
"No no. I just didn't know. I also didn't know you are this hot." She said, giggling.
"Now you're just trying to flatter me!" I said laughing.
I pushed her back, laying on the bed with me over her. I kissed her deeply. She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me back.
I pulled back slightly.
"I'm still only in my underwear." I whispered in her ear.
I stood up.
"Get dressed!"
"I need to take a shower."
"No you don't! We don't have long, we don't need to be late to your own event." She said, exasperated.
"But I do need to be well dressed, well washed, and have my hair up."
"Ugh! Fine! I'll wait here, go down the hall, but you better run there and back! Hurry!" She exclaimed.
I grabbed my clothes and shower bag and went down the hall to the showers. I quickly got in and tried to hurry. When I was done, I stepped out, dried myself and got dressed. I left the stall. I decided not to cover up my scars with makeup, but still did my lips and eyes. Pure, bright white. Maybe I am the Albino Goth. But that's not so bad.
I twisted my hair into a bun, like all Guardian s do since most don't bother cutting their hair. If this goes well, I'm getting tattoos later. Marking me as the first of a new Royal Family, another marking that I passed my magic test, and then one for every element I use. I'll be the only person to ever have more than one.
Samuel came into the bathroom.
"Are you ready to fail?" He asked.
About eleven people entered behind him.
"I won't." I stated strongly.
"I know that you lied, you just told Zandra that to see if you can trust her." He said, his group laughing.
All of a sudden, water came flying at my face. Only it didn't connect.
It stopped, two inches away from the finger I held in front of my nose and mouth.
Some of the group gasped. I felt a push against the water I had seized control of in front of my face. I saw I look of strain on Samuel's face as he pushed.
I mentally pulled the water out of his control. I pulled my hand back beside my head, preparing to launch the water at him as I built more water into my hand with it. And launched the water and it drenched him.
"Okay so you can control Water, but I know you can't control the rest of them!" He yelled angrily.
"Wait and find out." I said, grabbing my bag and leaving.
I enter my room, drop my stuff and Zandra grabs my hand and pulls me back out.
"Let me lock the door." I said.
She let go of my hand and I locked the door.
"We are going to be late!"
We ran there and the a user of each element, the ones from yesterday, and Zandra's dad waited for me on a platform.
In the middle of thousands of people.
This was a stadium at the school used for the physical exam scenarios that each novice goes through. And now, as I ran onto the platform, the large screens and attendees focused on me. Headmaster Hampton, Zandra's dad, put a wireless microphone into my ear and positioned by my mouth.
"You're late." He said, his voice in the speakers so everyone could hear.
"I got delayed by a malicious Water user in the shower room. His attack now has him sitting on one of these stadium seats, drenched in water."
I heard laughter as everyone realized that I had reversed his attack.
"So would you like to begin?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Each of these people will step forward separately. They will let their magic well up inside them. Only other users of each separate element can sense the magic. Tell me as they step forward, tell me their element. You will be blindfolded so you can't use auras to tell, if you are able to see auras through Spirit ability." The Headmaster said.
With that, he blindfolded me.
I sensed someone step forward. A moment later, I felt a warm sensation. Like a burning after a moment. A campfire urged me to relax.
"Fire."
I sensed as this person made the fire flare up in his hands, letting everyone see.
"Yes," the man said, "but I had barely started. You're sharp sensed."
He cut off his magic and stepped back.
Another person stepped forward.
I soon got a sense of flying, wind against me. The wind begged me to join it, soaring and I felt a build as if my body was about to rip apart and change. I fought it into the back of my mind and away. The ripping feeling disappeared but I heard gasps.
"Air."
"Yes." A woman answered slowly.
She stepped back and someone else stepped forward.
A mountain, up high, I've climbed it. No. I brought it down to pick me up and take me to the very top. I don't want to be up here, put me down.
The ground started shaking.
"Stop doing that!" The Headmaster said.
"I'm not doing it! He is!" The Earth using woman said, shocked.
"Winter! Stop, you aren't supposed to use yours yet!"
"Earth." I shouted.
The ground stopped moving.
"Yes." The woman said.
She stepped back.
Here goes another.
The ocean swept over me. But it doesn't drown me. I pull oxygen out of the water, still breathing. I make the water still, but then make it move me. Drifting me away from the shore, knowing I'll have it also bring me back.
"Water."
"Yes." The man answered.
He stepped back.
The final one.
I closed my eyes, feeling this one the strongest of all. Light. Beautiful light, dancing around me. Encircling my body.
"This is his strongest." A man said, the Spirit user.
I heard gasps from everyone in the stadium, even those I'm front of me. I know what they are seeing.
The light circled me, in their view. I felt my body trying to rip apart again. I couldn't suppress it this time. It took me.
I felt my skin rip and I growled in pain. NO PLEASE NOT HERE. PLEASE DON'T LET THEM SEE THIS!
My body didn't listen, it didn't care if they saw. But my mind knew they would probably lock me up if this rips free. But it's too late.
Shocked yells and gasps sounded as I turned into a dragon.
The blind fold, and my clothes were ripped to shreds at my feet.
"Spirit." I growled in my Dragon voice.
