Mark and I sat down him to the right of where I sat at the head of the table.
Zandra entered the room then, running up to me. She leaned down and kissed me, which I graciously fell into.
She then pulled away and sat to my left.
"So how long have you two been dating?"
"We aren't officially dating, he hasn't asked yet." Zandra said.
Mark eyed me, raising one eyebrow, and smirked.
"Hey, a lot has been thrown at me since I even found out that you liked me. Since you didn't ditch out on me and you kiss me and hold my hand, I kinda thought we already were dating. I figured you were giving me a break because of that, and since I know nothing about dating." I stammered.
She laughed.
"Okay then I'll consider it that we've been dating a few days."
"No."
"What?" She asked, offended.
Mark smirked again, having read my mind when she didn't.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
Understanding flashed on her face followed by relief. She smiled and a burst of excitement and joy came to me through the bond.
"Yes!" She exclaimed, giggling.
I smiled at her. Then I leaned over and kissed her cheek.
"People are about to start pouring in. I'll point out Royal families to you." Mark said.
"Okay, thanks."
As he said, people poured in.
"Droscovs. Dark emerald green eyes."
The tall male with hair like mine (only his was black) smiled when he caught sight of Mark. He quickly walked over and sat down on the seat close to Mark's left side.
"I don't see any place cards so I'm keeping this seat." He said, his voice deep.
Another man, looking almost exactly like Joseph sat at the left of him. And the Queen herself beside him.
Quickly I stood, shocked.
"No no, sit down. This is your day, people will rise when you rise. Not when I enter. This day is your's." She said.
I sat down just as quickly as I stood.
The man beside Joseph was only different in the fact that his hair stopped at his shoulders. Joseph stopped mid-back.
Many teenagers had entered with them, all Droscov, except one brown-eyed one.
"He's not Royal, but he lives with them. His family name is Davis." Mark said, and the brown-eyed teen smiled.
Another group entered, their eyes were light green with dark golden brown around the pupils. They had medium brown hair.
"That is the Simmons family." Joseph said.
"You stole my line!" Mark said, mock angry.
They both laughed.
More people entered.
Rimner, dark blue-grey.
Timithus, golden brown.
Dravcus, light emerald green.
Arazayn, dark blue-green.
Valenzayn, light blue-green.
The Royal families continued on and I saw two people enter.
A tall woman in her early twenties and a small girl who looked to be about three years old.
The little girl had curly white hair.
And crystal ice blue eyes.
My mothers friend had been pregnant when they kicked her and my mother out of the academy almost four years ago. After what they had done to me.
The little girl now stood in front of me, smiling.
"Dey daid ou myy daddy!" She said, giggling wildly.
She jumped up onto my lap and hugged me. She rested her head on me.
The woman looked at me.
"You needed family in order to have any power as a Royal. Your mother was human, so she can't be utilized. But after what her human friend did to you, we noticed that the little girl was a vampire. A blood test was done from the blood on you when you were taken to the clinic, after what Samuel told the Guardians about you. And she's your daughter."
I could barely breathe. Mark looked at me and Zandra stared at the little girl with her mouth open.
The girl looked at me again.
"Dey daid ou migh nogh teep me. Myy day wiff ou?"
"If you don't feel like you are ready to take care of her, you don't have to. She doesn't have to be your responsibility, we just wanted you to know that you have a family quorum. Its your choice."
"Myy day wiff ou?" She asked me, hugging me as tight as she could.
I couldn't breathe, I was in shock. But then I got my breath as I made my choice.
I wrapped my arms around her little self.
"Yeah. You stay with me." I said softly, kissing the top of her head.
She giggled, and threw Her little arms around my neck.
Zandra still stared eyes and mouth wide open.
What did you think I should have done? She's my daughter, and I'm going to actually be her dad.
I... I just. Had no idea...
If you don't want to date me anymore then I understand.
No no, I'm not leaving you. I'm just surprised.
I didn't know either. Not really.
She's beautiful.
Yeah, she is.
"What's your name?" Zandra asked her.
"Deedemba." She said.
"December Reneé Stone." The woman said.
"That's a pretty name!" Zandra said.
"Taank ou!"
"I'll leave her with you now. She doesn't really have anything for me to leave with you though. I've given all her information to the Guardians. You're good to go. Have a good day." The woman left, leaving my daughter with me.
No one said anything about it, me having a daughter.
The room filled up quickly and I listened to December talk about being happy to be here. Her reaction was adorable when I told her that she is Royal.
She gasped.
"Myyyyy? Oyal? Nu wwwayyyy! Oh myyyyy dosh!"
The table laughed.
The dinner was about to start.
"Okay. Everyone! The Queen is now going to speak!" The Headmaster said, and he sat back down to the right of Zandra.
The Queen stood.
"Hello everyone. It's nice to see how so many people have showed up to celebrate our new Royal family, The St--"
The Queen was cut off by none other than Samuel.
"He can't have a Royal family! He doesn't have a family quorum at all! He's no Royal in my book!" He shouted.
December gave an angry gasp and climbed onto the table so everyone could see her. People gasped as they looked between her and I.
"Nu! Don ou talt abou myy daddy lite dat! Ou be tuiet!" She yelled, and it was completely adorable.
Most of the crowd started saying "Aww she's so cute!"
"Your daddy?" Samuel yelled the question at her.
"Don't yell at her. I don't even want you to yell like that to anyone in this room if it's regarding something she said. Yes, I just found out before this dinner party really started that she is my three year old daughter. Her name is December." I stood close behind her against the table in case she fell.
"Yeah! Dee he do habe a famiwy. Meeee!" She shouted happily and turned around and hugged me, giggling wildly again.
The room said "awwwww" again and I picked her up off the table and sat down with her on my lap again. She played with my hand.
"He has a family quorum, so enough with that. Thank all of you for coming. I, for one, am glad that Mr. Stone has now become a Royal. I trust he will make a good one. Now enough with me talking, this is his Day. When ready, he can officially start us off and the appetizer will be served." The Queen finished and sat down.
The room was quiet, listening to me.
"Are you ready to start?" I asked December and people "awww'd" again.
"Yeah!" She exclaimed.
"Get up and tell them that you're ready to start." I said.
She giggled and I set her up on the table.
"Otay! Weady! Weady! Ebby body eaaaat nowwww!" She called.
"Yeah!" I shouted playfully.
Everyone continued to say "aw" as food was brought out by more people than I could possibly count that fast. Everyone was served an appetizer of what looked to be a creamy vegetable soup and fried onion slices.
Two plates were set in front of me, one big and one small.
I pulled her plate direct center in front of us and mine toward the right so she could reach her's. She grabbed a slice of onion and chewed it for a moment and bit part off. The other part she dipped in the soup after she saw me do so.
It was really good.
She kept eating like that until she got bored with the soup. She ate a few bites of the soup alone.
Her tiny little lips scrunched up, the soup being very bitter alone.
Zandra and Mark snickered a little at her reaction.
Heck even I don't really like bitter vegetable soup.
*laughter* bitter soup is kinda a Royal thing. You'll get used to it.
I don't think I will. It's pretty nasty.
Oh come on! If she could take that much of it, so can you.
I had mostly been eating the onion slices.
Think of it kinda like tartar sauce.
I don't like tartar sauce. At all.
Oh just eat it!
She laughed out loud, and most of our table looked at her.
December laughed too, her perfect white teeth and fangs showing.
She had eight. She would get four more in a few years when she has more teeth.
The Queen stared at her fangs.
"How many fangs do you have, Winter?"
The room looked, having heard the Queen's voice, and quieted.
"Twelve." I said, opening my mouth wide enough to show her all twelve.
The room filled with an awkward and uncertain silence.
She laughed.
"Prince Winter of the Multi-elemental Twelve Fanged Stone Dragons! You truly amaze me!
The room breathed a sigh of relief and continued on it's own conversations.
"Thank you, Your Majesty."
"I think you might just be the next monarch. I'm retiring soon." She said, obviously serious.
The room came to a standstill. And then exploded.
People shouted how I am barely a Royal yet, and how I would make an awful King.
"QUIET!" The Queen shouted.
Silence fell, and she sat back down. No one said anything else about it for the rest of the dinner.
Our servers came out and took away the appetizers and brought out the main course.
Again, one big and one small plate.
I smiled.
But we were also both given a salad. Before the little bowl was even on the table, she gasped and grabbed a carrot from it. The server chuckled and set it down and left.
She chewed on the carrot cheerfully, and giggled again.
I guess she likes carrots.
I guess so.
I looked up at Zandra.
She was smiling, looking at Little December.
She looked up at my glance and smiled.
I love you.
I love you more.
Not possible.
The main course was great. Lobster and Salmon, sided with a large baked potato, two dinner rolls, sushi and a salad.
I tried the sushi. It was surprisingly more disgusting than I'd expected. I quickly spat it out in a napkin and the people around me tried to hide their laughter.
December looked at me, and picked up a piece of sushi off her plate. She looked curiously at me.
She eyed it some more and sniffed it.
She then stuck the sushi in her mouth and a moment later, I knew she didn't like it at all.
She whimpered and looked like she wanted to cry. She looked at me and tiny tears welled up in her little eyes.
I held another napkin just in front of her mouth and she quickly spat it out, and hugged me.
She still wrapped her arms around me and glared at the other two pieces of sushi on her plate.
I took the sushi off both of our plates and put them in her now empty salad bowl.
She kissed my cheek and smiled, happily going back to her food. After casting another glare at the sushi.
Dessert was fruit salad with a chocolate drizzle and dipping sauce. I gladly covered my fruit pieces in the chocolate dipping sauce.
December's mouth got covered in chocolate, the pieces of fruit almost too big for her little self to eat as one bite. She got to a large piece of watermelon and got angry when she couldn't eat it in one bite like I could.
I took her fork and cut the watermelon with it.
"Eating it in separate bites just gives you the chance to have more chocolate." I said.
After dessert was done, the dinner ended and everyone departed.
"I sent someone out during the dinner party to get a children's bed and some clothes and other things for her. When you are ready to go to your room, I'll send some people up with her new things." The Queen said.
She smiled down at December, who stood next to me gripping my pant leg.
"Taank ou!" December said.
She ran forward and I reached for her but couldn't grab her.
She wrapped her arms around the Queen's leg.
"Why did you try to stop her?"
"I thought people thought it was disrespectful to do something like that." I said quickly.
"Aw, she's just a little child. She's not bothering me."
"Thank you very much for everything." I said.
"You're very welcome." She said.
December came back to where I was and clutched my pant leg again.
"Let me bandage you. I'll follow you to your room so I can tell you how to take care of your tattoos on the way." Mark said.
After he bandaged me all up, my back felt stiff and I had to be careful not to mess them up.
A knock sounded on the door and Zandra opened it.
Many people carrying things came in, with stuff for December.
She sat on my bed and looked shocked as the people set up the little bed and a dresser. They filled the dresser with folded clothes and put little stickers as labels on the drawers. A picture of night clothes and all the others. Except dresses.
She stood on the bed, twirling the skirt of her light pink dress.
"Do you like dresses?" One of the people asked, smiling.
"Oh! Beryy mut yed!" She squealed.
"Good cause we have a lot for you!"
They brought in a wardrobe, painted white to match the dresser and bed. It was about four feet tall and made just for dresses. It was three feet wide, to fit a lot of dresses.
Then they opened the doors on the wardrobe after putting it perfectly in the corner. The doors opened from six inches from the top to three inches from the floor.
And then they started bringing in dresses. All different colors and fabrics and designs.
Dang, there has to be at least fifty stuffed in there on hangers.
She stared wide eyed at the dresses and then ran over to them and started jumping up and down, squealing.
The people brought in a few racks and a stack of clear drawers put together for storage. There were five.
After putting the racks on the wall and putting stuff like baby wipes, child care things.
The three bottom drawers were filled with toys. The two top drawers were filled with things like play mats and more child care products.
Her excitement had taken the rest of her energy. The people laughed as she rubbed her eyes and curled up on my bed. She gave a little yawn.
"We will come back tomorrow with a few more things, but y'all have a good night." One said and they all left.
"Come on, I'll help you get ready for bed." I said.
She stood up and walked to her dresser. She pulled out a random shirt and pair of pants, one pink and one purple. She walked back over to me. After she was dressed, she put her clothes in my laundry basket by the door and curled up by my side on my bed again.
"Don't you want to sleep in your bed?" I asked.
I didn't get a response, just her little face relaxing as she fell asleep instantly.
Zandra giggled and curled up by my other side with her head on my chest.
I struggled to use my feet to push the blanket out from under the three of us, and pull it up enough for Zandra to grab it without sitting up. I made sure not to wake December.
I tugged the blanket up to keep her warm and Mark laughed.
"Well, goodnight. Shhhhh I won't tell anyone that Zandra stayed the night here." He stood up.
"Love you Mark. Goodnight." Zandra whispered.
"Goodnight Mark." I said quietly.
"Love you too Zandra. Bye, see you two tomorrow. Oh! You three."
Zandra sat up and kissed me softly. I kissed her again and again. She giggled. I smiled and she kissed me one more time.
She laid back down.
"Goodnight babe. I love you." I whispered.
"I love you too. Goodnight."
She snuggled up close to me and drifted asleep.
I looked at my ceiling and smiled.
A beautiful girlfriend and a beautiful daughter. I've been very blessed today. I know that.
I closed my eyes and let my mind drift into sleep and was still smiling.
