I was walking in the forest alone in the middle of the night. It was a bit cold and windy so it was freezing. I had my arms crossed over my chest, holding my arms to try to keep myself warm. This walk seemed to be to long to be normal and I had no idea where I was going. I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach and my heart was beating fast, almost like a hummingbird and for some reason I felt like I wasn't alone.

I tried thinking about other things to keep my mind off the emptiness and quietness that was around me in the darkness. All I could hear was the light whistles of the breeze. I started to hear a light sound and by what I could tell, it sounded like a low speaking voice. As my concentration ventured to the sound I was hearing, it became a little louder.

I was still trying to figure out what it was saying. Then it got a little louder and now I could hear it better but it was saying it in a whisper like tone that flowed through the breeze into my direction. I made out what the whispering voice was saying.

"Carrie"  It was saying my name.

I sped up my pace to a fast walk as it became closer and now I was scared. Suddenly I heard swishing noises and the shuffling of the trees like something was moving at a nonhuman like speed. I freaked out and I began to run knowing something was chasing me. I started to cry in fear.

This is it, I'm going to die in this place and from what I don't want to know. The voice started getting closer to me faster "Carrie... Carrie." It kept saying my name over and over again.

"Go away!" I screamed frantically, "Leave me alone!"  The fear I felt inside was overtaking me and the adrinaline kicked in and made me run a little faster than normal.

I could see a light ahead, thinking it could be a way out or somewhere safe. I ran a little faster but when I got closer to the the light, I was knocked down by a blurr that brushed past me. I quickly scurried to a tree on my hands and feet, afraid to stand up. I backed up to a tree nervously

"Is anyone there?" I cried out in fear and it echoed. I heard the sound of footsteps as they got closer.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you Carrie."  It was a guy. The voice sounded so soothing and graceful, almost like a beautiful tune to my ears.

In a way I felt safe but also in danger. I closed my eyes, scared of whatever ot whoever it was coming toward me. Suddenly I felt a cold hand caress my face. the chill of his touch sent shivers down my spine but then I felt a sudden warmth in my heart. What does he want from me?

I gained the courage to look up to see who it was but when I reached his face I couldn't see him that well. He stood me up with no problem at all like I was a feather. I crossed my arms to hold myself and looked at him nervously, trying to catch a glimse of his face.

"Wh... what do u want form me?" I said stuttering on my words, making it obvious that I was scared. I waited for his answer.

"Carrie..." He said only pausing for a moment like he didn't want to answer me. "There's something I want to tell you." His voice seemed filled with fear.

All of a sudden the scenery changed and the darkness changed into a crimson tented sky. I found myself standing in behind what I believed was the same strange guy only to see that he was a little further away from me now than what he was. I slowly walked toward him, my heart beating faster as I got closer. he had his back turned to me and I finally got close enough to touch him. I raised my hand to place on his shoulder to turn him to me but before I could he screeched out,

"Don't touch me! Run Carrie! Run and don't turn back!" I jumped at the sound of his tone.

I stood there in fear and I looked at him still with his back turned toward me. I was scared to say anything but I was desperately wanting to know. "I want to know who you are."  I felt as if I was going to regret saying that. Everything was quiet now.

The crimson sky was just light enough to see his figure and what he looked like from behind. I heard a growl come from him which made me jump back. "Run Carrie! Now!" His voice sounded angry.

I ran as fast as I could as he told me to. I could hear my own heart beat frantically the faster I ran. Why would he tell me to run? Did he know something I didn't and was trying to protect me? I heard the swishing noises again only to feel a strong embrace of arms wrap around me from behind.

"I'm so sorry! I can't help myself." His voice shook as he spoke, "Please forgive me." I acknowledged that it was him again and I couldn't figure out what he meant. His tone was filled with pain and hurt and I didn't understand why.

"S-sorry for what?" I choked on my words as I asked. My heartbeat was louder now, almost like I could hear with sonic hearing. This isn't normal at all. All I knew was I was confused and scared.

I felt a light breath in my ear only to hear him whisper, "Please forgive me."

Then my head was tilted quickly to one side and I felt a burst of pain piercing my neck. I shrieked out in pain feeling him bite down and I heard a slight sucking noise. My body quickly became weak and everything faded into darkness once more only to hear the sound of my heart slowly descend until its last beat.

      ****

I jumped up in my bed letting out a gasp like I was being sufficated. I was panting, and breathing heavily. Sweat was pouring from my face and my body temperature I know was high. Still a little freaked, I scurried my room to see if anything was lurking in the darkness. nothing.

"It was just a dream...." I said to myself calmly and relieved in a sure manner.

I'm so stupid to even think that it was real. But the dream felt so real like it actually happened. I put my hand on the side of my neck where that mysterious guy had pierced my neck wih his teeth. Nothing. Ok now I'm sure it was just a dream.

I sighed and got up to walk to the bathroom. I turned on the cold water to splash on my face to soothe me a little more and then looked at myself in the mirror. I patted my face dry with a towel and then went back to my room and this time I turned my lamp on and laid back down on my bed. I pulled the covers up close to my face. For some weird reason that always made me feel safe after a nightmare. Yeah like a blanket is going to stop someone or something from getting me.

I looked at my clock and it was 2:30 in the morning. I groaned and looked up at my ceiling only to see nothing but darkness along with the dim light of my lamp. It gave me enough comfort to try to go back to sleep. I closed my eyes to let my mind drift into good thoughts to soothe my mind. I had to get up in a few hours for my first day of my last year as a high school student. I finally felt at ease in my mind and I found myself drift back off into sleep.

The pic I posted is how I envisioned the crimson forest Carrie sees in her dream. It was the best pic I could find that looked creepy enough. :)
