~*~ Allen's POV
I didn't really sleep well last night because of the fact that I now know my beloved's family are hunters. The thought of it shrieked through my mind as I remembered my encounter with Damon last night. Plus my brother Lance didn't come home til around two in the morning. I didn't feel like getting up at the moment to go find out why he had been out so late. Right now my mind was focoused on Damon and how he figured out what I was before I found out what he was. I have lived my centries long enough to notice things like that before he ever even existed. How I didn't figure him out sooner I don't know. I suddenly heard some shuffling around in the kitched from my room. That must be Lance getting a blood bag out of the fridge. I guess I need to go down and find out why he came in late last night.
I stood up off my bed and stretched and then looked down at my abdomon to see that my wound had competely healed. I threw a black tee shirt on and slipped on some blue jeans and then I headed down stairs to greet Lance in the kitchen. He was definitely drinking blood from a blood bag. I leaned up against the kitchen doorway and he still had his back turned towards me.
"What is it now Brother?" He asked in a bummed tone. I crossed my arms and shook my head at him.
"I see you have robbed the hospital of their supply of blood again." I said as I walked over to the fridge to get a bag of blood for myself. My throat was kind of burning. I heard him scoff at me in a sense that mad him seem mad or upset.
"So what? I had to find something to do to try and get my mind off from things. Plus, what's the harm in having our own supply of blood so we don't have to go hunting for a while?" He asked in a sarcastic manner. I counldn't really argue with that question being that I could have died last night when I was hunting for myself. I just shook my head in agreement.
"Yea I guess you're right. I guess it would keep us a lot safer than going out hunting for ourselves." I said and then looked outside the window of the kitchen and out toward the woods. Lance looked at me with a cocked eye brow as he was finishing up the last bit of blood that was in his glass.
"What do you mean safer?" Lance asked in concern. We haven't had to worry about hunters for quite a while til now. I needed to tell him what happend last night and to give him a heads up on what is to come. The fact still pains me as I see the flashback all over again.
"I went out hunting waiting on you to get home last night and I was shot with an arrow by a hunter." I said trying to sound as calm as possible. I didn't want to make it obvious that this whole situation has done a number on me.
"What? We haven't had to deal with any hunters in years." Lance said in a civil manner. "Are you at least ok?"
"Yeah I'm fine, my wound healed. But that's not the important part." I said and then Lance looked at me in a way that told me that he was waiting on the worst to come out of my mouth, which it was.
"Well tell me Allen." He said eagerly. I looked at him with a pained expression.
"He wasn't just any hunter...." I started not wanting to speak the real truth out of my mouth. "It was Carrie's brother Damon." I said. It pained me to speak about it but I had to get myself together. I will be seeing Carrie soon and I don't want her sensing anything from me. Lance had a shocked look on his face but also angered.
"What the hell Allen! Are you crazy? You could put our lives at stake." Lance argued and at his tone and the reason I know he was hinting towards kicked in my defensive side.
