I could barely adjust my eyes to the bright lights that blinded me above. I blinked my heavy set eyes until my surroundings became clear. Everything around me was white and I could feel that I was laying on something quite soft and somewhat uncomfortable. It wasn't long until I figured out that I was in a hospital room. Why am I in a hospital room? I don't even remember how or why I am in here. I looked to my left and saw a dozen white roses and wondered who they were from. In my train of thought, I was suddenly snapped back into my senses when a doctor came in.

"Hello Miss Carrie, how are you feeling? Do you feel any better since your last check up?" he asked as he walked over to my bedside.

"I feel fine but slightly different. Something feels different but I don't know what it is." I said as I pondered the reality of not being able to figure out anything that happened to me.

"That's normal, you will feel a little abnormal after being off your feet for two days." the doctor advised. My eyes widened as I turned to look at him strangely.

"I have been here for two days?" I asked in shock. The doctor looked at me with an eyebrow cocked.

"Yes, you came here with a bad case of what seemed like food poisoning of some sort. You were in pretty bad shape. I see that you have your natural skin color back now which is very good. Your vitals are back on a normal track and you seem to be in better shape than what you were." The doctor said as he was writing constantly on his clipboard of papers. I couldn't grasp the fact that I have been here for two days and didn't even notice. The part that bothers me the most is that I still don't know exactly what happened to me.

"So when can I go home, if you don't mind me asking?" I asked desperately. I was really ready to get out of this hell hole and get away from all the needles and machines that are hooked up to me.

"You can go home today as a matter of fact. All I need you to do is sign these release forms." He said as he handed them to me. He then walked over to the closet and grabbed some clothes. "Here are your change of clothes and when your are done, turn those papers in to the front desk and your brother should be there to pick you up. He's waiting for you in the waiting room. You can also pick up your doctor's excuse for you to take to school tomorrow. Just go home and get some rest okay." The doctor said with a creepy smile. I nodded and then he made his way out of the door, closing it behind him.

I sighed and struggled to get out of the bed. Once I made it to the edge of the bed, my feet met the floor. Not thinking to well, I stood up and almost fell to the floor. I felt weak, and helpless but I managed to keep my balance. I threw the hospital gown off and slipped on my blue jeans and white tank top before someone else decided they wanted to bust up in here. It's funny how I don't even remember how this all happened. I don't even remember being brought to the hospital. All I know is that I ate some bad food that I hope to never encounter again. Just the thought sends shivers down my spine and knots my stomach up in ways that I can't explain. Still there was that thought that reassures me that I'm going to be okay. I felt at ease with that thought like it was a voice soothing me from my pain. A voice? Now I'm really going crazy.  When I finished, I signed the release forms and made my way towards the door. Finally I made it to the front desk and found a nurse sitting behind it, flashing me a smile.

"May I help you?" The nurse asked.

"I just need to turn in these release forms. I was told this is where I had to take them." I answered and she reached her hand up and took the papers. She typed some things in the computer and within minutes, she took a paper out of the printer and handed it to me.
