*one week later*

•April's POV•
It's been a week since Chloe's accident. I've been feeling better but I really miss how Chloe was so happy. We talked maybe twice this week and that is not normal for us. She told me that Danny asked her to be his girlfriend before the incident and she said yes. She sounded happy over the phone but I don't know if she was really happy. I hope he treats her right because she's been through a lot lately.

Paul asked me to go to the movies with him tonight but I might just stay home and help Danny feel better. It's been really hard on him since Chloe is his girlfriend. Danny hasn't hung out with me and Paul for a while. I texted him but he doesn't respond. I hope he's okay too.

After a while of thinking I decide I'm going to go to the movies with Paul.

I go take a shower and text Paul to pick me up in an hour. I thought about telling Paul I have feelings for him but that would make things awkward because what if he doesn't feel the same way? I don't want to ruin our friendship but I also want us to be more than friends.

I finished getting dressed. I put on a Pierce The Veil tank-top and some black shorts with my burgundy vans.
I hear a know on my door and I go downstairs to answer it. "Hey April. You look cute. Nice shirt by the way" he said smiling. God his smile is so adorable. "Um thanks." I replied laughing. "Ready to go?" He asked me. "Yeah let me get my phone." I reach for my phone off the couch.

We get in his car and he hooks his phone up to the AUX. He plays "She's kinda hot" by 5 seconds of summer. He's singing along and this just makes me laugh so hard I snort. I looked down in embarrassment. Paul turns down the music and looks at me. He asked "Did you just snort?" I nod still looking down. "Aww that's adorable." He said. I feel heat rise to my cheeks and I cover my face to hide my blush.

We get to the theatre and guess who I see. Chloe and Danny smiling and laughing together. This just made me the happiest person on the planet right now. I run over to Chloe and pull her into a hug. I bite my bottom lip to keep from crying. "You're smiling. I finally see your beautiful smile again! I missed your smile." I say to her. She hugs me back even tighter and says "I missed my smile too." I look over at Danny and mouth the words 'take care of her' he nods and looks at the ground placing his hand on his neck. Chloe lets go of me and tells me her and Danny were just going to see Paper Towns and if Paul and I wanted to see it with them. I looked at Paul and he shrugged. "Nah. We're good. We don't really like romantic movies." I tell her. Danny laughed and said "Typical Paul."

Paul and I agreed to watch Vacation. During the movie Paul would glance at me then when I looked back at him he would look away and smile at the ground. I wonder if I should tell him that I like him. I chose to give him a sign and I grab his hand and intertwine our fingers. He gives my hand a little squeeze and he smiles at me. I smile back at him and he put his arm around me while I put my head on his chest. I listen to his heartbeat as it matches up with mine. Our heartbeats are in sync. I'm glad I came here with Paul today.
