Marty saw the rest of the gang - minus Rachel - as she entered Central Perk, sending them a strained smile and looking over her shoulder as she came in.
"Are you alright, Honey?" Monica asked the girl as she took a seat on the arm of the couch, next to Chandler.
"Uh, yeah." The redhead muttered as she shook off her coat, "It's just, I thought I saw this guy following me, but I must've been wrong." She said, "So, Rach's party?"
Her friends shared concerned glances but decided to continue their conversation as it was clear that was what Marty wanted.
"I talked to Rachel's sisters, neither of them can come." Ross said.
"Okay, um so, I still have to invite Dillon and Emma and Shannon Cooper." Monica nodded, assessing her list.
Joey's eyes widened, "Woah, woah, woah, uh, no Shannon Cooper."
Phoebe raised an eyebrow, "Why not her?"
"...Cause she uh, she steals stuff." Joey spluttered out.
Chandler rolled his eyes, "Or maybe she doesn't steal stuff and Joey just slept with her and never called her back."
Monica let out a gasp, "Joey that is horrible!"
"Hey I liked her, alright." Joey shrugged, picking at his shirt with a frown, "Maybe, maybe too much. I don't know I guess I just got scared."
"I'm sorry, I didn't know." Phoebe said, but Marty just narrowed her eyes at Joey.
The man let out a laugh, "I didn't think anyone'd buy that, okay."
Rolling her eyes, Marty took the muffin out of Chandler's hand and threw it at Joey.
"Thanks." Joey grinned, picking the uneaten treat from his lap and taking a bite from it.
"Hey!" Chandler whined.
"I saw you eat three of those yesterday. You won't miss that one." Marty said as a frustrated Rachel entered the coffee shop.
"Hi honey, how did it go?" Ross asked his girlfriend.
"Ugh! It was the graduation from hell." Rachel exclaimed, putting her bag away and grabbing an apron.
"Ya know, my cousin went to hell on a football scholarship." Chandler quipped, wrapping his arm around Marty's waist to make sure she didn't fall off the arm of the couch.
"Ya know, I mean this is supposed to be a joyous occasion. My sister's graduating from college, nobody thought she would. It's a true testament to what a girl from long island would do for a Celica." Rachel scoffed.
