The Paris night was silent, the only sounds coming from the distant city lights and the faint ticking of the clock. The dim glow from the bedside lamp cast a golden hue over the hotel room, creating a warm contrast to the cool night air.

Karan lay on his side, his breathing steady as he drifted in and out of sleep. He had been exhausted after their day of landing here and checking in the hotel, and all he wanted was a peaceful rest. But Tejasswi had other plans.

She lay beside him, eyes wide open, watching his relaxed face. A mischievous smirk played on her lips. Slowly, she shifted closer, her fingers trailing up his arm, feather-light, enough to stir him from his sleep but not enough to make it obvious.

Karan stirred, letting out a sleepy groan. He tried to turn the other way, but she was persistent. She placed her hand on his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heart.

He exhaled deeply and cracked open one eye. "Teju... what are you doing?" His voice was husky with sleep.

Tejasswi pouted innocently. "I'm not sleepy."

He groaned and ran a hand through his hair. "Then read a book or something, don't disturb me."

"But I'm in a mood," she whispered, her voice deliberately sultry.

That woke Karan right up.

His eyes widened in alarm as he turned to face her completely. "What do you mean by 'in a mood'?" he asked, his voice wary.

Tejasswi bit her lip to hold back her laughter, but her eyes gleamed with mischief. She had caught the flicker of panic in his gaze, and she wasn't about to let him go that easily.

"Oh, Karan," she sighed dramatically, letting her fingers trace small circles on his arm. "What else could I mean?"

Karan gulped, his brain going into overdrive. "Tejasswi..." he warned, inching back slightly.

But she wasn't having it. She moved closer, closing the small gap between them, her hand now trailing down his chest. "Are you nervous?" she teased, her voice dripping with amusement.

Karan definitely was. His entire body tensed, and he forced himself to keep his gaze on her face, not letting his eyes drop even an inch lower. "You're impossible," he muttered.

Tejasswi smirked, enjoying his predicament. "Admit it, pati dev. You like this."

Karan cleared his throat and tried to pull away, but she grabbed his wrist, preventing his escape. "What's the hurry?" she whispered, her lips just a breath away from his ear.

A shiver ran down his spine. "Teju, stop," he gritted out, his self-control hanging by a thread.

She giggled. "Why? You're scared of me?"

"I'm not scared!"

She arched a brow, her fingers still dancing along his arm. "Then prove it."

Karan knew he was walking into a trap. He knew it, but his pride wouldn't let him back down. So he grabbed her wrist, flipping their positions in one swift motion. Now, he was hovering over her, his dark eyes locked onto hers.

Tejasswi gasped slightly, not expecting the sudden shift. But her smirk remained.

"You want to play games, huh?" Karan murmured, his voice low and dangerous.
