The abandoned village house groaned under the weight of the storm outside, its wooden beams creaking like old bones. Rain lashed against the broken windows, the wind howling through the cracks in the walls, carrying with it the scent of wet earth and damp stone.
Inside, the air was thick with the musk of neglect-dust, mildew, and something older, something forgotten. A single oil lamp flickered on a rickety table, casting long, trembling shadows across the peeling walls. The golden light barely reached the corners of the room, where cobwebs clung like tattered lace.
Their fingers tangled, their foreheads touched, and then their lips found each other again - not in haste, but in a lingering, consuming kiss that seemed to drink in every emotion they'd been holding back. The outside world faded completely, leaving only the two of them, the rain, and the ache of being so close yet wanting more.
The kiss deepened, carrying with it the weight of years of unsaid words, unspoken desires, and silent longing. It wasn't just lips meeting - it was a confession, raw and wordless. Tejasswi felt her knees weaken under the intensity, her hands clutching onto him as though letting go would shatter the moment. Karan, on the other hand, held her like she was the only anchor keeping him grounded, his thumb brushing her cheek tenderly even as his lips claimed hers with growing urgency.
But then, just as the air grew too charged, Tejasswi's eyes flew open. Reality struck her like a storm. With a sudden push, she broke away, her palms pressed against his chest as she created distance.
Karan stumbled a step back, startled, his breath still ragged, eyes searching her face for an answer. She quickly turned her face away, her cheeks flushed crimson, her lips trembling from the aftertaste of his kiss.
She stood up abruptly, brushing her wet strands back, her pallu clutched tightly as though to shield herself from the vulnerability she had just shown. Her breaths came uneven, her chest rising and falling rapidly.
Karan straightened as well, taking a hesitant step forward but then stopping himself, maintaining a few feet of distance between them. His hands hung by his side, itching to reach out to her again, but the shyness radiating off her made him stay put.
Tejasswi's eyes flickered to him briefly before darting down again, unable to hold his gaze. For the first time, the bold, teasing girl who had always found words to rattle him was completely speechless. She bit her lower lip, trying to hide the nervous smile tugging at her mouth, her entire face glowing in a blush.
And Karan... he could only stare, his heart still racing, his lips curved in the faintest, most helpless smile.
Tejasswi stood near the center, her bare feet pressing into the cold, uneven floor. She shivered-not just from the cold, but from the weight of the moment. Her breath came in shallow bursts, her chest rising and falling beneath the translucent blouse, the fabric so thin now that the darker circles of her nipples were visible, hardened by the chill.
Karan stood a few steps away, his broad frame filling the doorway. His white kurta was plastered to his torso, the fabric molded to the ridges of his muscles, the dampness making it nearly transparent in places.
The rain had slicked his dark hair back, droplets still clinging to his lashes, his stubbled jaw glistening under the dim light. His hands, strong and calloused, flexed at his sides, as if resisting the urge to reach for her again.
