Everybody was sleeping when we arrived back to the campsite. I felt my stomach twist with anxiety as we walked up to Jacks tent. I was scared of what they would think, I didn't want them to feel bad for me or think I was weak and helpless. I wanted to go into my tent and sleep and pretend that nothing had ever happened. I wanted to not be there.

"Josh." I said quietly before he went to wake up Jack. He looked at me with soft eyes. "Can I go to the tent? Please I don't want to answer any questions right now..." I begged.

"Quinn you really should be checked out by Jack, make sure you're okay.." Josh said softly. Oh god! The last thing I wanted was that! I did not want To feel even more helpless and vulnerable.

"Josh please..." My voice cracked as I tried to choke down tears. His eyes grew even softer and his face filled with sympathy. Stop looking at me like that! I'm fine! I wanted to scream it out, I did not want anyone's sympathy, I wanted to pretend that none of this had ever happened.

"I'm sure it can wait until morning, maybe rest is better for you right now anyways." Josh said as if he was trying to convince himself. I nodded and turned to walk towards my tent, feeling the anxious feeling in my stomach disappear. I had saved myself from talking to anyone for a few hours. I crawled into the tent and curled up on the ground, leaving the pillow and blanket for Josh. I found sleep almost instantly.

I dropped Jacob down on the ground outside of Jacks tent and went inside. I could hear him snoring softly. I shook him gently and heard him jolt awake.

"Jack? Jack it's just me, Josh."

"Josh? What's wrong? What is it?" Jack asked calmly.

"You're never going to believe what just happened..." I said.

"Is everyone okay?" Jack asked, panic rising in his voice.

"Well... For the most part I guess.."

"what is that supposed to mean?"

"Well... I found Quinn and-"

"That's great!! Where was she?! Where is she now?" Jack asked happily.

"Yeah well here's the thing... Jacob kidnapped her and was keeping her in the forest. Jacobs in rough shape... Sorry bout that... Jacobs a fucking monster, I found her curled up on the floor of the forest. Who knows what sort of sick things he did to her..." I said this all in a rushed voice, trying to summarize everything quickly. Jack didn't say anything for awhile, and I was about to ask if he had fallen back asleep when he finally spoke.

"Where are they?" He asked in a quiet voice.

"Jacobs outside your tent and Quinn went to bed, she wasn't ready to face anyone. I think she's just embarrassed."  Jack got up and walked quietly out of the tent, I followed.

"Jacob?" Jack said as he neared Jacobs body laying on the ground. Jacob didn't say anything. Jack pressed his fingers to his wrist, waited a few moments and finally sighed with relief.

"He's just unconscious. You must've hit him pretty hard." Jack said.

"Fucker deserved it." I spat. Jack ignored my angry outburst

"Help me bring him into my tent, there's not much we can do about him while he's passed out. He'll have a nice black eye but nothing too serious." Jack said. I helped Jack move Jacobs limp body into the tent.

"So what happens now? Shouldn't there be consequences for what Jacob did?!" I asked Jack.

"We should definently help keep him away from her, but as for consequences.. We are neither the law nor his parents therefore we don't have much power. We are simply a handful of helpless people stuck on an island. However we can try our best to place some rules for him and just hope he obeys." Jack said wisely.

"So that's it? Quinns probably going to be traumatized, she's in constant danger as long as he's around." I threw my hands up in frustration.

"What are we supposed to do Josh? Force him to leave the campsite and never come back? Send him on his own to fend for himself? That would be inhuman! I understand his crimes and I am deeply upset at Quinns unfortunate circumstances but the best we can do right now is to act as a family and take care of her as best we can. As for Jacob, he is not a part of this family, Jacob is here because we are not the kind of people to turn him away and refuse to help him." Jack reasoned.

"I don't want him anywhere near Quinn, I don't even want him looking at her. Just the thought of him touching her again just... Ugh..." I said in disgust.

"As do I." Jack nodded in agreement.

"Then it's settled. Jacob is not aloud anywhere near her without one of us being there." I said.

"Agreed. Where is she now? I should probably exam her and make sure nothing's wrong, no ticks, parasites or any sicknesses. I should probably test her mental state as well.. I'm no good at psychiatric but I know more than the rest of you." He shrugged.

"And what about things like.. Well... Things like STD's? I mean she didn't straight up tell me he had raped her but I mean... What are the chances that he took her all the way out there just because he could.." I tried to keep the anger out of my voice but I couldn't hold back.

"Well I have no equipment to help me check.. Also I would like to save her from as much embarrassment as possible so we should just trust that if she is suspicious of anything like that she will come to me about it privately." He said softly. I nodded in agreement.

"I just hope she's okay." I whispered.

"Maybe you should go back to her, get some rest." Jack suggested. I agreed and walked back to my tent.

I found her curled up on the floor, with the pillow and blanket on the other side of the tent. I picked up the blanket and lay it over top of her, I kept the pillow for myself. I Then I lay down on the other side of the tent and fell asleep.
