Evan was bathing under the shower, while thinking about Riti. He knew he was being too strict with her, but he couldn't deny the fact that she was lying to him. "I thought she is opening with me and don't hide anything, but after this incident, I don't know what to believe," he said to himself as he swiped his hair backward to his head.
After showering, he changed into casual clothes - a loose t-shirt that fit according to his body muscles and loose trousers. It was now going to be nearly 20 minutes since Riti had been locked in the room. Hurriedly, Evan went out to open the door and let her out, hoping she hadn't fainted.
On the other side, Riti was tired from tapping the door and, giving up, she took support from the door as she couldn't see anything and sat on the floor crying. She was feeling so helpless that nobody came for her rescue, and she realized that nobody can go against her husband's decision. However, she still felt hurt about it.
As she sat on the floor and stopped the sound of tapping, she became aware of her surroundings and got literally extremely scared. Her heart was beating so fast as she couldn't see anything, and bad scenarios were coming to her mind, like something pulling her or some hand coming. She got too scared and cried so much, sobbing.
Riti's panic grew as her heart beat fast. She tried to calm down but couldn't. Her breathing got out of control, and she felt like she couldn't breathe. Riti's fear grew as she realized her state, and she cried even more.
"No, please God, I don't want to die," she thought. "I think I'm having a heart attack. If I die, he'll be blamed, and I don't want that." Riti's fear of dying and the consequences for Evan overwhelmed her, and she kept crying.
She was still defending Evan in her state because she knew that he was not a bad person and that she was in the wrong, but she was still upset with him. Aside from knowing that she was not in a position to get upset, her panic was growing. She was getting unconscious, but then she realized the door behind her was open, and with crawling, she stepped aside from the door. She had no strength in her legs and her whole body; she was just waiting to see the face of the person behind the door.
As she saw Evan's face, her tears came more. Evan proceeded to take her arm and make her stand, but Riti's entire body weight went on Evan as she was unable to stand on her legs. Her legs felt numb to her, and Evan noticed it. He picked her up in a bridal style, took her into the room, and placed her on the bed. He didn't say anything or even look at her face. After that, he left the room and went down to the living room.
He told his mom, "Now it's up to you, check on her and give her dinner." Shivani hurriedly went to their room, saying to Ruhi to come with dinner, and Agnesh, who was also worried for her, went behind Shivani. Evan sat on the sofa.
In the room, Shivani went near Riti, checked her forehead, and took her dupatta. She softly rubbed it on Riti's face, cleaning the sweat on her face and neck, and asked, "Are you okay, beta?" Riti's eyes were a little open, and she nodded her head. Then Ruhi came with a dinner plate, and they made Riti sit. Shivani made Riti eat with her own hands, and Riti felt so much affection from them that she forgot all the things she felt when she was locked.
They all sat in their room, talked with Riti, made her smile, and reassured her that she didn't have to be scared of Evan. After they all talked and laughed for an hour, Shivani patted Riti's head, kissed her head, and said, "Now, you rest, beta, okay." Then they left their room.
Evan had also eaten his dinner after giving Riti; Ruhi had served Evan. As he saw everyone leaving the room, after some time, he got up and went to his room.
Evan entered his room, finding Riti lying on the bed, and didn't disturb her. He took his side of the bed and lay down.
The next morning, Evan woke up first and got ready for college. Riti woke up a little late, feeling tired and weak from the previous day's crying. She didn't want to go to college, but she knew she had to. Just as she was about to get ready, Shivani entered the room.
"Good morning, beta. You woke up," Shivani said. Riti replied in a low and sweet voice, "Good morning, Mom." Shivani then said, "Today, you don't need to go to college. You can rest more, okay?" Riti was shocked, but before she could protest, Shivani reassured her, "It's okay, beta. Evan is the one who said that. So, rest, okay."
Riti agreed, thinking to herself, "Why is he showing me kindness now?" Despite her confusion, she felt happy about it.
Riti had already woken up, so she decided to freshen up and have breakfast. Afterward, she returned to her room to rest since everyone else was busy - Ruhi with her online work, Shivani with some ladies' gathering, and the children were at school.
Riti lay down on the bed and unfortunately fell asleep. She didn't wake up even at lunchtime, and no one disturbed her, letting her rest. It was now approaching evening, and Riti woke up, feeling even more tired after sleeping for at least four hours.
When she checked the time, she realized it was around the time her college would be ending. Feeling embarrassed and scared, Riti thought about confronting Evan, worrying about how he would react.
Riti got up and went to the living room, where Shivani saw her and offered evening snacks and tea. Riti thought it would be a good opportunity to avoid Evan.
However, Evan soon came back from college, went straight to his room to freshen up and change, and then headed to the living room. He deliberately didn't glance at Riti, trying not to let his emotions get the better of him.
When he had a chance to speak to Riti alone, he said, "Come to the room," and left without looking at her. Riti was momentarily frozen in place, thinking, "I hope I haven't done anything more wrong."
She eventually went to the room, where Evan was sitting on a single sofa chair with his laptop. He noticed her but didn't look at her, saying, "Come to me with your books. And let me aware you that there are only five months left until your exam." This created another tension for Riti.
Evan instructed her to sit on the bed and gave her some topics to prepare. Riti complied, feeling a mix of emotions as she sat down with her books.
