Chapter - 11

After his little lecture, he said, "Well, you have to study even if you don't want to, so let's start our next topic." Riti didn't say anything; she just went along with their study session.

After this, they went to college. In the next upcoming days, Riti lost even more interest in her studies as her exams were approaching. She was more indulged in her phone and didn't study, which made Evan even more stricter than before towards her.

Riti came home from college and hurriedly changed her clothes. She took her phone and started using it. She was a very big fan of reading novels and spent all her time reading them. She was so indulged in reading that she didn't notice Evan's arrival. As Evan's gaze fell on her, he frowned but didn't say anything. After he changed, he came and said, "Come with your books." Riti dropped her phone on the bed and went with her books.

As Evan explained the topic to her, he said, "That's enough for today. For the next few days, I will take a daily test from you. I will give you one topic from each subject, so be prepared for tomorrow." Riti nodded as he told her about the test for the next day, thinking in her mind, "Shit! What test! The professors in college are already taking surprise tests, now I'll have to give tests at home too."

She took her book and went to bed. As Evan left the room, she took her phone and continued reading her novel.

She remained sitting on the bed with her phone and didn't check the time. Then Evan came to inform her that it was time to eat dinner. Only then did she realize she had wasted her time and hadn't prepared any of the topics Evan had given her.

As they were eating, she asked, "W-will you take the test in the m-morning or evening?" Evan replied, "Two subjects in the morning and two in the evening. It will depend on me which one I'll take at which time." Then they departed to bed.

But Riti was so eager to read the next chapter of her novel that she covered herself with a blanket, lowered the brightness of her phone, and started reading. There were many chapters to read, so she decided to complete it before sleeping. As she reached the last chapter and completed it, she smiled. But when she saw the time, it was 3:30 am, and she realized she had wasted so much time.

"Oh God! There's only one and a half hours for me to sleep, and then I have to wake up at 5 am. Shit!" she thought to herself. Then she hurriedly and very slowly put her phone on the table without making any noise and went to sleep.

It was now 5 am, and Evan woke up to the sound of his alarm. He got out of bed and went out for exercise. He never woke Riti, as she always woke up to the alarm sound. After exercising, he came back into the room and saw that Riti was still asleep. He didn't do anything and went to the washroom for a bath.

When he came out, he still saw that the alarm was buzzing, and Riti was turning it off repeatedly. He frowned and went near her side, pulling the blanket from her face. "Wake up! It's past 5 am; hurry and wake up," he said. Riti just murmured "hmmm" and covered herself again, going back to sleep.

Evan sighed, watching her, and then again pulled her blanket, this time pulling the whole thing off and touching her shoulder, saying "Riti, wake up!" with a slightly higher tone. Riti shrugged off his hand from her shoulder in her sleep and said "umm" but still didn't wake up.

Evan got irritated this time and took the jug of water from the table beside him. He took some water in his palm and threw it at Riti's face. "Now! Wake up. In two minutes, I want you to freshen up, and I want to see you at the study table," he said with a stern voice.

Riti woke up with the water splashed on her face and got scared by Evan's stern voice. She hurriedly got up and went to the washroom.

As she changed her clothes in the washroom, Riti remembered that she hadn't prepared for the test. "Shit! Now what should I do? I didn't even look at any subject. Please, please God, save me today, just once," she said.
