The Hunt (An AntiSepticEye story)

My town is probably one of the safest towns in the country. We have the smallest crime rates of all time, only one tenth of a percent. We're also efficient when it comes to gas prices, taxes, etc. Sure I'm an 18 year old who doesn't actually have to worry about stuff like that completely just yet, but it makes me not want to worry when I do end up having to do stuff by myself.

I was over at my friend Marley's house for a sleepover. We do this every weekend. We play games, go on social media, have pizza and junk food, watch movies and stay up until 5 AM.

We were on YouTube, randomly searching up videos to watch. We came across a video labeled "Reading Your Comments" by a YouTuber named Jacksepticeye.

"Hey I've heard of him!" Marley said. "I've never actually seen his videos before."
"My friends like him, but I've never gotten into him." I confessed.

Just for the hell of it, we decided to watch his video. I must admit, he was a pretty funny guy. We both laughed at some of his jokes, especially the ones that involved hate comments. The next few hours were of us actually watching more of his videos. I began to take back what I said earlier, because I was really getting into him now.

Suddenly, Marley's mom came storming into her room in a panic.

"Turn to channel 5!" Her mom exclaimed.

Marley immediately found the remote and turned on to the news. There was breaking news, of a body being found in the woods... In our town! A town who normally has crimes or reports like this in or around their area would be used to it, but not us!

"Whoa..." Marley and I both said.
"They found the body early this morning." Marley's mom explained. "It was the body of a person who went missing last night."
"You never know... It could be a suicide!" Marley said.
"No, they said they found a knife, and the fingerprints didn't match the victim." Marley's mom explained.
"So now there's a killer loose in our town?" I asked.
"Well if it was found in the woods, maybe it went farther into the woods to another town!" Marley explained.
"That doesn't mean the suspect won't come back!" I argued.

We finally stopped arguing over the news a few minutes later.

"It's only one incident that happened..." Marley stated. "We get these kind of incidents once each year! So maybe this is the one incident for the year. The suspect will be caught, and life will be normal again!"
"Not for that poor victims family..." I said.

Marley immediately turned off the TV and we decided to watch more of Jacksepticeye on YouTube.
