The next day, around 10am, I woke up to the phone vibrating right beside me. I checked it, it was my mom, who was already ready to pick me up. I looked over at Marley, who was still asleep. I quickly packed up my stuff, and left a note for Marley telling her I had to leave. After that, I looked out the window, where my mother was already waiting outside for me. I quietly went out the front door and into my moms car.

Putting on my seat belt, I looked over near the wooded area. I noticed that the dozens of police cars that surrounded the woods were now gone.

"Jackie, what's wrong?" My mom asked.
"There were a riot of police cars surrounding the woods late last night." I explained. "And now they're just gone!"
"Maybe they have clues that lead to whoever the murderer was, if they haven't caught him already." Mom said.

Mom then drove away from Marley's house and drove through the town, the quickest way to get to my house. The town was once again empty with only a few cars driving by.

"The town is still empty..." I said.
"It's been this way since last night." Mom explained. "They still haven't confirmed they caught anybody yet, and if they did, they didn't announce it."

I continued looking out the window. Thinking once again about the black sweater that the cops found last night. You would've thought that with a piece of clothing, you would find the suspect easier. But that might not be the case.

We then finally pulled into my house in our development. Dad was outside waiting for us so he could help my mom with the groceries that she got before she picked me up.

"Hey, how was the sleepover?" Dad asked.
"Same old..." I answered, picking up a couple bags of groceries.
"By the way, there's a letter in there for you." Dad said.
"A letter?" I asked.
"There's no return address, so I wouldn't know." Dad said.
"I thought there was supposed to be a return address for letters?" I asked.
"I don't know, I guess that's not true." Dad answered.

I then went inside, set the groceries on the table and looked at the pile of mail on the dining room table. There was one that had my name, and my address.

I hesitated, but then opened it.

Jackie,

Sorry about the fact that I basically stalked your personal information to find your address, but this is very important. I know you're probably thinking about calling the cops or something, but please don't. This is something very important I need to talk to you about due to the fact that I trust you. I know we only met each other once at the mall, but I knew right away I could trust you. I know you can hopefully trust me. If you can, then please meet me at the riverfront alone at 5pm today.

Signed,

Sean aka Jacksepticeye

My eyes widened. Questions flooded through my mind. How did he get my address and why did he want to talk to me? More importantly, how was I gonna get to the riverfront by myself? I couldn't drive. I then got an idea. Marley could drive. So I would call her.

My dad then came into the dining room.

"So who's the letter from?" Dad asked.
"Junk mail..." I responded to him, crumpling up the letter. But when dad wasn't looking, I put it in my pocket.

I then had to make up an excuse to call Marley to pick me up. Then something came to me.

"Hey Dad, I need to call Marley, I forgot something." I said. He nodded.

I immediately went upstairs and called Marley.

"Hey, did you forget something?" Marley asked.
"No, but I need you to take me up to the riverfront!" I exclaimed.
"Why?" She asked.
"It's a long story but it's urgent!" I told her.
"Alright, alright..." Marley asked. "What time?"
"4:30, so we can be there at 5!" I said.
"Okay, I'll see you then..." Marley said before hanging up.

I then breathed a sigh of relief and went downstairs.

"Is Marley dropping it off?" Dad asked.
"No..." I answered. "Well yeah, but she invited me to the aquarium later on, so that's where we're going."
"You two stick together too much!" My mom assured.
"Is that a bad thing?" I asked.
"Well, I guess I suppose since you haven't been able to hang out lately, and you've never been to the aquarium before, I guess I'll let it slide." My mom explained.

I breathed another sigh of relief.

I helped my parents unpack the groceries. As I kept looking at the time, I began tensing up as time came closer before I would have to go to the riverfront and meet Jack.

Even though it was only 2pm, and I still had less than 3 hours until I had to meet him, I was going crazy, wondering what he wanted with me.
