Kezess Indrath POV
Sitting in my throne comfortably, with Myre to my side, my eyes were locked on the two figures before me.
Bahamut was pacing around the room, with his arms crossed and his expression stern. "We should've heard back from Aldir by now." He looked at Kezess. "Why haven't we heard anything?"
"May I remind you that I myself am not omnipotent," I said, shooting Bahamut a glare.
'He can be quite annoying when he gets like this.'
My eyes flicked to Mordain, who simply chuckled as he leaned against the wall, with his arms crossed.
"Easy," Myre said softly, her eyes flicking between me and Bahamut. She smiled, "I am sure we will hear something soo—"
The doors to the throne room flung open, and Windsom hurriedly walked to the center of the room, his expression unreadable.
Mordain raised a brow, "Well, this doesn't bode well."
"Windsom," I began, sitting straighter. "What is it?"
Windsom knelt and looked at me. "We have a problem. Aldir just contacted me. Agrona has discovered the floating castle and has sent some of his experiments to take it."
Shooting up from my throne to my feet, my glaring eyes were locked on Windsom. "What?!"
Bahamut scoffed, "So what? Isn't Arthur in the integration phase now?"
"He just reached integration," Mordain stated, his tone grave and eyes locked on Windsom. "His power will be chaotic. He won't have control. It can backfire."
Bahamut looked at Mordain and cursed. Then looked at Windsom, "What about the royal families?"
"Evacuated," Windsom replied, looking at Bahamut. He looked at Mordain. "Your disciple had delivered another Lance before she helped the royal families escape."
Mordain nodded, "I taught her well."
Bahamut looked at Kezess. "If Arthur is unstable, then the outcome of this battle is uncertain." His eyes narrowed. "Shall I unleash my wrath upon them?"
"No," Kezess stated firmly, looking at Bahamut. "We can't risk involving Agrona and the surviving Basilisks."
Bahamunt scoffed, "Then what? We wait?"
My fists clenched. "No." My eyes snapped to Mordain, "Are they ready to rejoin the fray?"
Mordain lifted his head, meeting my gaze. He was silent for a moment. "Emotionally, physically, or mentally?"
"Mor." I snapped.
Mordain sighed, "They went through a lot, but they're ready—" he shrugged "—ish."
"Ish?" Bahamut raised a brow.
Mordain looked to the side, "They've been doing well. What happens when they rejoin the war, I don't know." He was silent for a moment before looking at me. "I'll speak with Dawn. See about her allowing him to keep an eye on them."
Bahamut smirked, "Ah, finally ready to let him join, are you?"
Mordain looked at Bahamut, "It was never my decision. He has been ready, but Dawn is protective."
"Mordain," I began, and everyone looked at me. "Speak to Dawn and send them in. Time is of the essence."
3rd Person POV
Arthur spun around, confused and wide-eyed at the sound of Tessia's voice. Completely baffled, his gaze fell on Tessia, who was standing in front of a tall mirror in their room in Zestier. She was looking at her own reflection as she brushed her silky, gunmetal gray hair.
