Alea Araric POV
'What the hell?'
My eyes were locked on Arthur's blade, Despair, I think its name is, as he had it pointed directly at my sternum. I couldn't help but flinch, wondering what was happening right now. And then there was the fact that he called that purple hair Scythe his sister, and me a Scythe.
"Arthur?" I said, my voice questioning and light.
Arthur's eyes narrowed on me, and I started at the murderous look in his gaze. "Don't speak to me so casually."
My heart dropped, and I watched as his grip on his sword tightened. He used to look at me with such love, but now, there was no sense of familiarity in his eyes.
I swallowed hard, "Arthur, it's me."
Arthur scoffed, "Oh, I remember you. Viessa, right?"
I swear my eyes could've fallen out of my skull from how wide they became in an instant. Gritting my teeth, my gaze snapped to the Scythe sitting against the wall. "What did you do to him?"
Viessa smirked, her dark eyes locked on me.
"Don't speak to her!" Arthur yelled, his voice echoing in the room.
I looked back at him in surprise. I raised my hand slowly and placatingly. "Arthur, listen to me."
"Why?" Arthur asked, his voice stern and rough. "Are you going to tell me why Agrona sent you here. What you plan to do?" His face contorted in disgust. "Perhaps you just wanted to kill the royal families."
I swallowed hard, trying to think of a way to get him to listen to me. It wasn't hard to figure out what was happening. That little Scythe bitch was messing with Arthur's mind, and now, he sees me as the enemy. But how I was supposed to get through to him, I don't know. If it comes down to me having to fight him... I don't know if I could emotionally or power-wise.
Trying to keep a calm demeanor, I spoke evenly. "Arthur, you're under some type of spell. It's me. Alea."
Arthur scoffed, "Don't think you can fool me." His gaze darkened. "My sister is currently hurt because of you." Arthur's gaze softened as he looked at Viessa over his shoulder, which made my stomach turn. "Are you alright, Sis?"
Viessa's smirk faded as she looked at Arthur like a helpless girl. "Yes, I'm fine. Don't worry about me." She looked at me and smiled sinisterly. "Just be careful when dealing with the Scythe."
"Don't worry," Arthur said, his voice dark, and looked back at me. "I'll handle this."
"Arthur, wait!" I pleaded, and he raised a brow. "It's really me, Alea." I tried to rack my brain for an idea. "J-just remember growing up! I escorted you and Tessia as adventurers!"
Arthur's brows furrowed, before his expression darkened. "Get out of my head!" He cocked his hand back, coating his sword in a massive swirl of fire magic. "You bitch!!"
My eyes widened in fear and dread as Arthur swung his sword at me. I quickly covered my body in a layer of water magic and took to the air.
A blast of a tsunami of intense flames erupted in Arthur's attack, shooting outward in a wide cone. A wave of shock washed over me, watching as the flames flew forward, and Bivrae yelled and held her hands over her face as she and her toxic trees were consumed in the raging inferno.
I hissed as the heat of the intense flames grew, with the fire spreading around the room. The water magic around me began to grow warmer by the seconds, so I continuously pumped colder magic into it, hoping to keep it from boiling.
