The boy escorted me to her hut. During the walk I could get a better look at him he has ash black hair smoldering brown eyes a confident playful attitude, and a smile with dimples. He was nice but I could tell he was in love with Devon. “She is so amazing. With her hair blowing in her face like that, but I could tell something was wrong. How I knew the attacker had bad intentions I don’t know.

The attacker was someone I know well. He was her old boyfriend. He disappeared for some time and two weeks ago appeared at the gates; begging for us to take him back. I noticed a change in him. He was rougher, tougher, and meaner somehow. When he got angry his eyes would turn black. You knew that she was in danger how?”

He was talking and the question caught me off guard, “I don’t know how I knew. I could sense darkness coming from the boy. He seemed to have bad intentions” I broke off but he had to finish my sentence.

“You mean like that boy who came with you. The earthbender; he is just like how her attacker was. Mysterious, rough, stiff, and rigid. The way you look at him is the same way I look at Devon. You like him don’t you, but he is also a minion” I glared at him and he responded, “No worries I won’t tell anyone; just keep him from getting angry. Oh and if he hurts Devon he is going to be burned alive!” we stopped at a hut a little ways away from the main ground. It had a homey feeling. “Here is your new home. Watch out because she is very territorial. Well bye” then he left with a hopeful gaze at the hut, but the doors stayed shut.

I walked up and knocked, and was met by the door slamming open not two inches from my face. “Oh you’re here. Fine come in. you sleep there and everything else is mine” She pointed to a little corner with a bed of leaves.

Across the hut was the best room I have ever seen. She had a mattress made of moss, and a carpet of grass that tickled your feet. It was all decorated floor to ceiling with plants of all kind. Bushes, cacti, trees, flowers of every color, and by the bedside a huge Venus flytrap. I went to go look, and she pulled me away. “I wouldn’t; Venere can eat flesh you know”

“What’s a Venere?”

“It’s short for Flytrap di Venere. Venus Flytrap. It was a present from Gerard” Gerard must be the boy who likes her. I wish love was that easy.

She then smiled at me creepily and crawled into bed.

I was standing there looking at all of this. Just a week ago, I had no friends or family. Now I am in a bending community. With the guy I have dreamed of for years, and a guy I may be falling in love with. I crawled to my pile of leaves, and heard her say one last thing “By the way; classes start at 7 am sharp!” with that she went to sleep.

...

My dream was a weird one.

I saw a man with brown red hair, and eyes like mine. His eyes were green as grass or red as flame. He was holding hands with a beautiful woman. She had platinum blonde and raven black hair. She turned to kiss him and I was met by pale blue eyes that turned aqua at the sight of me. She nudged the man and they both turned towards me.

Looking at them I could see myself in a twisted way.

I had the man’s hair, eyes, and wild features. I had the woman’s hair, eyes, and soft characteristics. I was staring at my parents. Before they tried to kill me.

Looking at my father I could see why he was all powerful.

I couldn’t really admire it though because I wanted answers and I wanted them now.
