The Aftermath: Sequel to It Was Always You. A Ginny Weasley Fanfic

Chapter 14

Ginny-

For days Lily Potter laid unconscious at St Mungo's. Her parents, family and healers were hoping for the slightest improvement but so far there was nothing. Her brothers had been adamant that they wanted to come home and be with their parents but Ginny refused them to. But James and Albus came home any way at the request of Harry. All Ginny could think of was her daughter and her welfare. She laid asleep in a hospital room.

"Mum why don't you go home. Aunt Caitlyn is here, we can stay here with Lily for a while." James said to Ginny.

"Are you both sure?" Ginny asked.

"Yes we'll be fine Mum." Albus agreed.

Ginny nodded and got up and walked out the room. Ginny walked out and stepped outside into the cool fresh air. Ginny apparated away back to Potter Mansion.

Ginny got home and sat down on the sofa. Why had this happened to her family? Why Lily? Those familiar tears fell down her face. The sound of an owl came through the window and dropped the latest edition of the Daily Prophet:

"LILY POTTER ATTACKED!"

"Harry and Ginny Potter's only daughter, Lily was yesterday attacked by an unknown suspect.

Lily Potter, 9 was yesterday found by her mother with a nasty head wound in her bedroom at the Potter Mansion at around 2pm yesterday afternoon.
The suspect is still at large while her father Harry Potter, the boy who lived is currently searching for the attacker."

Ginny sighed at the newspaper. Trust the Daily Prophet to keep up to date with the latest drama in the Wizarding World. The Potter family was always going to be at the centre of attention for drama.

Ginny rested her head in her hands. Lily didn't deserve this. She was only a girl. And she had to go through all of this. Because of this, James and Albus were now missing out on their education. It just wasn't fair.

A few days had passed. Lily was improving slightly but she hadn't woke up. The healers had said that they couldn't predict when she was going to wake up. It was just going to be a long battle that she would have to face. Each day would be a struggle. Ginny noticed that as she held Lily's hand her fingers moved. Her hands were warm so that meant that there was still life inside her. 

Today, James and Albus were going back to Hogwarts. They wanted to stay for a while but Ginny insisted that they go back. Ginny didn't want their education to suffer. She had promised to Owl them if there was any news. 

"Please stay safe won't you." Ginny told James and Albus hugging them both tightly. 

"We will Mum don't worry about us, just focus on Lily." Albus replied hugging Ginny. 

"Mum I can't breathe." James said as he tried to pulled away. 

"Sorry" Ginny laughed. 

"Be strong boys." Harry said as he hugged James and Albus. 

"Of course Dad." James smiled. 

James and Albus then stepped into the fireplace and went away by Floo Powder. Ginny knew how much James and Albus both loved Lily. They didn't want to let her go. Soon both the boys disappeared. Ginny and Harry then went home. 

Hopefully Lily would be ok.
