The Aftermath: Sequel to It Was Always You. A Ginny Weasley Fanfic

Chapter 16

Ginny-

Years had passed. Slowly everything went back to normal. Lily came out of hospital and made a full recovery. She was now in her sixth year at Hogwarts. Lily had grown into a beautiful teenage girl. What had happened to her as a young girl was now in the past and everyone could look towards the future.

Albus was now in his seventh and final year at Hogwarts. According to James and Lily, he had a thing for a girl in his year called Holly Leavesdale. He always  talked about her and blushed whenever James and Lily mentioned her name. Ginny could tell the signs straight away.

James was 18 and had already left Hogwarts. He had persuaded Harry to give him a job at the Auror Department and he agreed after a lot of persuading. James could be very persuasive and cheeky sometimes. He had the cheekiness of his grandad, the original James Potter.

Today was September 1st so that meant Lily and Albus were going back to Hogwarts today. Everyone was stood on the edge of the platform next to the Hogwarts Express. Ginny waved to Albus and Lily just as the train started moving and soon it was out of site.

Not long till Christmas, Ginny thought. Just not long till Christmas...

Harry was already at work and Ginny was sat reading Quidditch Through The Ages for what felt like the hundredth time. The book was so fascinating to read and it always amazed Ginny every time she read it. Ginny also had the tv on the news. She suddenly became aware of watching the tv when she heard a story.

'Breaking News: A massive attack on the Auror Department. More coming shortly.'

Ginny turned up the volume and watched anxiously. Both Harry and James were there. Has something happened to them?

'This is breaking news that has just come in within the last few moment, a massive attack on the Auror Department has left at least 5 people dead and more than a dozen injured. It has been reported that Harry and James Potter were on the scene at the time of the attack just moments ago. It has been said that Harry Potter as escaped uninjured in the attack but his son may have suffered some minor injures. Do stay with us as we bring you live shots from the scene of the attack.'

Panic started to rise in Ginny's chest. What had happened? Answers were needed quickly. There was then a knock at the door. Ginny ran to answer it and opened the door to Alexis and Caitlyn.

"Did you see the news headline?" Caitlyn immediately asked as they both stepped inside.

"Yeah, were the others there as well?" Ginny asked.

"Yes, I've heard that they're ok but James has been the worst out of all of them." Alexis said a grave look on her face.

"I know" Ginny sighed.

"We need to go to St Mungos." Caitlyn said after a few seconds of silence.

Ginny and Alexis nodded and they apparated to St Mungos. The minute they landed outside, there was photographers and news reporters everywhere. Ginny could see the flashes from the cameras and all the news reporters were talking at once.

The three girls, ran inside into the waiting room and saw the rest of the family sitting, waiting anxiously for news or any type of information that they could get.

"Hermione is everyone alright?" Ginny quickly asked.

"I think so. I've seen everyone except James." Hermione answered.

"They said that he's been seriously injured." Ginny said very quietly.

I've seen Harry. He's ok." Angelina said.

"What about everyone else?" Alexis asked.

"It's ok. We've seen them all and they told us not to worry." Hermione replied.

Then out of the corner of her eye, Ginny saw a figure. A girl with long blonde/red hair. She was wearing a healers outfit. Ginny knew who this was immediately.

Did she know what had happened?
