Two weeks later,

"Oh my god! David! I can run again!" I cried as my legs started picking up more speed. I haven't been able to do any activities because of my condition but after healing completely, I can pretty much do what I want without David on my tail -not literally of course-

"Careful Claire, I don't want you falling down once more." David chuckled as he remembered.

"But that's not fair! You were standing in front of me."

"You could have easily dodged me. I made not attempt to knock you down whatsoever." He grinned mischievously.

"Oh I know you did."

"I need proof."

"You never talk so formally unless you're hiding something."

"True that." He grinned "but you love me anyways."

"True that." I quoted him.

"Come here, I thought you wanted to learn how to fight?"

"Finally!" I shouted as I ran towards him, people were laughing at my excitement as they saw me running all day. I honestly don't know why but I felt happy when I woke up today morning.

David laughed out loud as I jumped into his arms and wrapped his arms around me, engulfing me in his muscular body. "May I ask you why you are so happy today?" He asked faking suspicion.

"I don't know." I pecked him quickly "come on, show me how to fight."

"It's not like you're going to need it, but just in case."

"I am telling you for the hundredth time David, I. Am. Fighting. With. You."

"No. You. Are. Not."

"Yes. I. Am." I won't be staying with some bunch of girls watching people die for me. Before David could say anything I said "we're not arguing anymore, at least not here in front of everyone."

"Oh no please continue, we don't mind." Tyler's voice rang through the whole field. Tyler and I have gotten closer over the couple of weeks, of course David doesn't like the idea but he can't do anything about it, I mean, Tyler is so funny and sweet and mated. He loves his mate so much that he never stops talking about her. Never I tell you. Never.

"Shut up Tyler." David shot him a glare but his eyes softened when he looked at me "don't do that."

"Do what?" I said innocently, oh I know perfectly well what I am doing, he can't resist this look.

"Don't make this face, I said no. I am not looking at you." He looked up and pretended to be watching something interesting in the sky. I took this opportunity and wrapped my arms around his waist, pressing myself closer "David." I called out his name.

"I am not surrendering Claire, forget it."

"Please." I pleaded. It was so damn hard to keep myself from laughing my ass off, David looked in agony, like he was using all of his powers to stay upright without holding me.

"Please." I repeated, this time I tried thinking of something sad to make my eyes water a bit, and this time David did look down with guilt written all over his face. Don't laugh. Don't show anything. Don't laugh.

"Damn it Claire, why are you crying?"

"Because you don't care about how I feel, all you care about are your feelings." A second later I was literally being squished in his arms.

"All I care about are your feelings," David said through my hair "if you want to come with me, then you will, but just so you know, you're putting extra responsibility on my shoulders." I don't care, he won't have to protect me. Once I learn how to fight, I will need no one's help.
