Henry
This was all vaguely familiar, I couldn't put my finger on it but I felt like I had been here before, like I had slept in this bed, eaten in this kitchen. But that was impossible, I met Regina a week ago in David and Mary Margaret's house. Everything felt off, like I was missing something, someone. I looked over at the clock and it read four in the morning, I figured that I wouldn't be getting lots of sleep anyways so I got up and walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.
It was all in a pristine state, everything was in its place, and I didn't want to mess with it. I took a seat at the counter and felt my stomach grumble, not wanting to bother anyone or mess up this organized room, I sat there and tried to control the groans of my stomach. "GET OUT HERE YOU- Oh Henry!" Regina said jumping back, her hand curled next to her hip as if she were going to yank an apple from a tree."Oh Regina, ha, good morning! I uh couldn't sleep so I came down here to uh, think." I stammered, the fierce look in her eyes before reminding me of someone, regardless it scared me. "Oh. Well are you hungry because I can make you something?" She offered, wrapping her blue cotton robe around herself, coming closer to me. "No thank you, I'm sorry I woke you up, you can go ahead and go back to sleep, I'm just gonna wait here." I said, not wanting to cause her any more trouble, she smiled and shook her head at me, pulling out a pan from under the counter. "Don't worry about it, I heard your stomach growl, I can make some apple pancakes." She said rummaging through the pantry, pulling out the ingredients. "Oh no that's okay really, it's early and I don't want you to have to do this for me, really. I can just run to Granny's and save you some trouble, I've bothered you all enough." I said taking the flour from her and placing it back into the pantry, washing the pan out that had small drops of oil. "Henry that's nonsense. I was already up." She said, judging by the bags under her eyes and the tousled hair, she was lying. "I'm fine, and you're lying. You have been really hospitable and I am so thankful for your kindness towards me! I mean we are practically strangers!" I said drying the pan, setting it in its place under the counter. She stiffened at the last word, then she relaxed and smiled up at me. "Okay, but I want you to know that if you are ever hungry or thirsty, just help yourself, what's mine is yours." She said giving me a lukewarm smile, returning up the stairs.
Regina
Strangers. That's how he sees us, practically strangers. He was uncomfortable staying with me, he wanted his mother and he didn't even know that he was in his own house, sleeping in his own bed. "Darling come to bed, I know you weren't in the bathroom that whole time." Robin said pulling me into the bedroom from the hallway, I sighed and sat down on his lap, resting my head on his shoulder. He kissed my temple and moved his hand down to my small stomach, keeping me in place. "We can figure this out, we need to talk to the Charming's today, but right now you need to sleep." He said gently laying me next to him, I gave in and pulled the thick comforter on top of us, tossing my robe on the chair.
"Snow, David. We have a problem!" I said bursting into their loft, they both looked at each other then me. "Besides our daughter's damned soul?" David snapped, I glared at him and then leaned on the counter, Robin's hand lingering on my lower back. "Henry crossed the town line last night because he thought I made Emma sacrifice herself for me, now he only has his cursed memories and all he remembers is Emma, and as far as he is concerned she's on a business trip!" I said dropping my face into my hands, Snow groaned and stood up. "David we never should have told him about Emma! This is all our faults!" Snow said smacking David's chest, he flinched at the smack then stood up, taking his wife's hand. "Well Regina you made him remember last time! Let's see if that will work now." David said as if it were the simplest thing in the world, I glared at him and rubbed my temple. "She can't just kiss him, he thinks she's just a friend of Emma and that would be bad if she just walked up and kissed him." Robin explained calmly, trying to avoid a screaming match. "He's right, remember our friend Lacey?" Snow reminded, David rubbed his eyes and nodded, dropping back into his chair. "Well Regina, it doesn't have to be a kiss, we just need to find a way to show that you love him." Snow said, Robin shaking his head in agreement. "Perhaps if he stays with you two a little longer he will start to remember." Snow suggested, I shook my head and gave her an irritated look. "He won't remember! He slept in his bed last night and he believes that it's Roland's!" I said nearly in tears, I was still trying to control my newfound hormones. "Well he may be remembering! This morning he was just sitting downstairs staring at the kitchen! That has to mean something!" Robin exclaimed towards me, I shook my head in doubt, I needed to talk to someone who had experienced this, maybe they could help. Belle. She was shot over the line! We all needed to speak to her and figure this stuff out.
We were all walking down the street when I saw Henry sitting on a bench talking to a girl, I was about to run over there and tell the girl to stop flirting with my baby boy, but I felt Robin pull me back and wrap his arms around me. "He's fifteen Regina, he can court a young lady, now let's go and figure out how to get him to remember you Mama Bear." He chuckled, pushing me down the street. I rolled my eyes and glared at the girl, trying to remind myself that he's not four.
"Belle! We have to pick your brain for a second." Snow said strolling in behind us. "Sure." Belle said sitting down in front of us behind the display case. "When you crossed the line and forgot who you were, did you ever see things that jogged your memory?" I asked anxiously, she pursed her lips and thought for a moment. "No, not really, but you enchanted the matchbook so I could become Lacey, but I never saw anything that worked. Even... even our tea cup." She said holding back her tears, fiddling with a page of the inventory. She had left Rumple, when he woke apparently he was impolite towards her due to his confusion. "Okay, thank you Belle." I said giving her a smile, she returned one then looked down, her young youthful face stained with sorrow and fatigue. "Just try not to scare him, when I was in the dark Rumple kept kissing me, it was scary, a strange man trying to kiss me in my sleep. Just be gentle." She said before going into the back of the shop.
"Well what the hell are we going to do?" I sighed, exiting the shop, trying to formulate a plan of some sorts.
