Lena's POV

"I don't want to go to work." I groaned.

"Well if you want to keep your job you're going to have to go in. Plus you were lucky enough to get Christmas off."

"Everybody did you idiot. It's a holiday." At that very moment, I remembered the last time I worked a shift with Paul.

"Oh god, how am I going to face Paul?"

"What are you talking about?"

Did I not tell him? Oh wait that's right we had sex in his car instead.

"On that day I had to leave early to meet my parents for lunch," I saw Luke clench his fists at the mention of my parents.

"I was going to ask Paul to cover for me and when I found him he was jacking off in the Anime section. I simply told him to cover for me then walked out."

"Just act like it never happened." He shrugged. My jaw hit the floor, there is no way he thinks that it's okay.

"Seriously! That was the most embarrassing moment of my life! I can't just act like it didn't happen!" He stepped forward and placed his hands on my shoulders.

"You're so cute when you're flustered." He kissed my nose and hugged me.

"Now go get ready so you aren't late." He turned me toward our bathroom, don't ask me how he ended up with the master bedroom because I have no idea. On my way, he slapped my butt as if to put some pep in my step.

"Lucas!" He simply laughed and pulled out his phone.

I was showered and dressed standing in front of the mirror. For some reason I didn't feel the need to put on makeup today. I put my bag back under the sink and walked out of the bathroom.

Luke was sitting on the bed with his guitar on his lap. His fingers hit a few chords before I heard his voice.

"Take me back to the middle of nowhere

Back to the place only you and I share

Remember all the memories

The fireflies and make believe

Kicking back at the old schoolyard

Singing songs on our guitars

This is our reality

Crazy stupid you and me

We know this is the way it's supposed to be

So we're taking the long way home

Cause I don't wanna be wasting my time alone

I wanna get lost and drive forever

We can talk about nothing yah whatever babe

So we're taking the long way home

Tonight."

"You know you guys really should think about starting an actual band." Luke nearly jumped off the bed at the sound of my voice.

"How long were you standing there?" He looked so flustered and it was adorable.

"Long enough to hear your beautiful voice." He smiled and sat the guitar beside him.

"I'm being serious, you should start a band."

"We kind of are though." He shrugged.

"No I mean actually have practices and stuff. Post covers or even originals on YouTube and Instagram, get your stuff out there for others to hear."
