Kayla and I said our goodbyes and were on our way back to my house. The boys were extremely nice and funny, well except for Luke.
I don't understand that boy. One second he is semi nice and the next he is a dick. Well, it looks like I have the bad boy living across the street. I really don't see the appeal of it.
"Hellooooo? Earth to Lena." Kayla was waving her and in my face rather annoyingly. I snapped my head to her and glared.
"Whoa I haven't seen that look since first grade when I accidentally pushed you off the swing." I didn't mean to glare at her, it was more directed towards Luke.
"Sorry Kayla. So what do you think about the boys?"
"You are so flipping lucky to have them living across from you. But as soon as one of them starts cutting their grass hit me up." I laughed at her boldness and held the door open for her.
As soon as her feet stepped through the threshold Blake was wrapping her in a bear hug. I was kinda cute actually. I gave Kayla a nod letting her know it was okay to hang out with Blake. I wanted some alone time to think right now anyway.
I walked into my room and changed out of my snow clothes. Ahhhh warm, dry clothes. I plopped onto my bed and started to think. I don't usually do this cause my mind will wander to the craziest things like Narnia. Wouldn't it be cool to live there though! Focus Lena, you're thinking about how you feel about Luke, not Narnia.
Luke. He was rude and arrogant, but he was also cheeky, adorable, and let's not forget a freaking sex god!
Lena you barely know the guy.
Ugh subconscious! Why must you be so logical.
A buzzing sound interrupted my thoughts. My phone was going off somewhere in my room. After searching everywhere else in my room I finally checked my cloths from earlier. Found it! Why didn't I I threw my hand up in the air in success.
A number I haven't seen before flashed across the screen, showing a new message.
You should close your blinds when you change sweetheart ;)
Luke.
God dammit that means he has seen me almost naked!! How can I ever face him again! Kayla walked in at that moment. I can't even imagine that sight. Me on the floor mouth agape and phone grasped tight.
"Lena? You alright?" I shot up and pulled down my blinds as fast as I could.
"NO!" I shoved my phone in her face so she could read the message. She took my phone and replied to the message before I could stop her.
"What did you do?" Judging by the mischievous grin on her face I wasn't going to like it. I read the message and gasped. It read, "like what you see?"
"Kayla! Now he is going to think I'm a slut! Or worse, that I like him!"
"Oh will you calm down and see how this goes. I did you a favor. I saw how he looked at you." What, he was looking at me a certain way? No way, I'm a nobody.
"Doubt it all you want, but I know what I saw." A smug expression on her face.
"Whatever, so I saw you and Calum hugging longer than a typical friend hug." I raised my eyebrow at her.
"Yah, I think he likes me," she shrugged, "but you know I'm always wrong about that stuff. Plus he just met me, he hasn't seen the crazy me yet!"
"Calum seems like a really nice guy. Come on!"
"You're right, per usual. I guess I'll give him a chance."
"Good."
"Girl, don't act like I don't know." Oh shit, she caught me.
"Wha-what do you mean?"
"You just want me to be with Calum so you have an excuse to see Luke more often."
She knows, of course she does. She's my best friend. I didn't know what to say so I just threw the nearest pillow at her.
-------Next Day-------
Ugh school today. I throw on my typical black jeans and vans, a band tee and my leather jacket. I curl the ends of my hair and put on light makeup.
As I was getting ready to walk out the door to the bus, my phone buzzed.
I'm driving you to school today
Luke again, I should probably save his number into my phone. Then again, how did he even get my number. And rude much? He didn't even ask he just told me that's what he is going to do. Well he is wrong. I'm walking to the bus stop, he doesn't control me. Hell he barely even knows me.
I stepped through the front door and began my half of a mile walk to the bus stop. Damn it's cold this morning. I was halfway to the end when I heard a car coming down the street. I didn't think of who it was so I just stepped onto the curb so I didn't get hit.
The car slowed down until it was going my speed. The window rolled down and Luke's head popped through.
"Lena. I thought I told you I was going to drive you." Wow the nerve of this boy.
"And I thought that you would know better than to tell a girl what to do." Shoot I didn't just say that did I? Where did that come from? I never talk to anybody like that!
"Lena please get in car. It's freezing out there." His face softened.
I walked to the other side of the car and hopped in, throwing my bag in the back. I can't deny heat and a free ride to school.
"Thank you." Luke whispered barely audible.
"What?" I didn't think that this bad boy had manners.
"Nothing." Back to his rude side. He reached over and turned the volume knob up.
"By the way I'm driving you every day I can. No questions asked. Do you understand." His hand was on my thigh, squeezing pretty hard.
"I-I understand." Did I just stutter in fear, or was the possessive side of Luke turning me on?
The rest of the ride was filled with the blaring music. Even though he never took his hand off of my leg he did loosen his grip. As soon as we pulled into a parking spot I climbed out and walked into the school without a single word to Luke.
I approached my locker to see my other best friend Adam standing against it.
"Hey bud what's up?" I asked as we did our secret handshake. I got my stuff from my locker and shut it rather loudly.
Adam slung his arm around my shoulders and we began walking down the hallway to his home room. We made small talk the whole way and I gave him a quick hug before I began my short walk to my homeroom.
I was on my way to my class when I was pulled back against a locker. I couldn't see who it was cause their body was pressed against mine, but dang they smelled good.
"Who was that?" Luke. Of course it was him. Who else would hold a girl by her wrists against a locker.
"Luke, let go. You're hurting me." His grip loosened but he didn't let go.
"Who the hell was that?" He asked through clenched teeth.
"Adam. He's one of my best friends. Now will you please let me go?"
"Don't hug him again." Really dude! I met you yesterday.
"Excuse you? Who are you to tell me who I can and can't hug?"
"Just don't please." His eyes were begging but his grip was tight. I swiped away his hands and started walking away.
"You're not my boyfriend, you can't tell me what to do." I was almost around the corner when I heard a locker get punched. I didn't have to look back to know it was Luke.
What have I gotten myself into?
