Lena's POV
It's been three days since the...incident. Luke has been there for me every time I need him. Even at three am this morning when I woke up shivering and sweaty, screaming his name.
Today I had to go back to school, can't procrastinate any longer. Luckily it was the last week before Christmas break.
I was putting on my shoes when there was a knock on my door.
"Come in."
Blake casually walked in and sat down beside me on my bed like it was his room instead of mine. He placed one arm behind him for support and the other on his lap.
"Are you sure you are okay to go today? I can cover for you if you need me to." Oh, Blake.
"Thank you, Blake, but I'm good. I need to go, for my own sanity."
He chuckled and wrapped his free arm around me. I quickly returned the hug, surprising him, sending both of us on our backs. We laughed for a few seconds before he sat up and left me to finish getting ready.

Luke and I pulled up to the school and I took a deep breath, trying and failing, to calm the thousands of butterflies in my chest. He squeezed my hand reassuringly. I smiled at him and stepped out of the car.
Luke immediately grabbed my hand as if he was scared I was going to run away. He intertwined our fingers together and pulled me towards the school.
I just managed to get to my locker before Kayla saw me.
"Lena! Where were you Friday? I missed you in art."
"Hey, girl! I wasn't feeling good so I just didn't come. But I'm feeling much better now." I gave her a weak smile. She didn't look like she believed me but thankfully she didn't question me any further.
"Okay, and when did this happen? Last time I checked you were mad at him." She gestured to our hands and then looked up at Luke questioningly.
"Friday." He responded for me, even though we both know this started way before Friday.
"I'll explain after school. I promise." The bell rang stopping Kayla from pushing to hear my explanation right there in the middle of the hallway.
"Luke you don't have to walk me to my class." I giggled and rolled my eyes. A smirk was plastered on his face.
"Yes, I do. That's what boyfriends do." The way he said boyfriend had me giddy. God, I really am acting like a school girl.
"Well thank you, but we're here now. And you don't need to be late for your first class." He leaned down and kissed me cheek, turned around and walked away.
"Well goodbye to you too." He turned around and flicked me off. I returned the gesture before placing my fingers over my cheek where he kissed it, tracing where his lips had been. Why did that feel so good?
-
I hadn't seen Luke all day. I looked for him at lunch only to be let down. I couldn't wait to get home and snuggle up with a blanket and watch 'The Office' reruns. Thankfully, it was the end of the day and I could do just that. I walked to the parking lot but Luke's car wasn't in his spot. Did he leave without me? About ten minutes passed and his car pulled in.
I climbed in and gave him a puzzled look while warming my hands in front of his air vents.
"Where were you?"
"You'll see." He smiled at me and pulled out.
"Ugh, not another surprise." I didn't realize what I had said before it was too late. He looked hurt for a few seconds.
"Luke, I-I didn't mean it like that! I just..." He grabbed my hand and kissed the top of it.
"I know what you meant. But I promise this surprise is much better." His signature goofy smile was back.
I was relieved when the car finally stopped after about a twenty-minute drive. Wherever we were there was nobody around. I opened my door and realized we were in the woods.
"Is the part where you trick me to come with you and then you kill me?" I jokingly asked. I bit my lip trying to contain my smile.
"No, you dork. Follow me."
He began walking towards the thicker part of the woods. All of the sudden it opened to a beautiful cliff that hung over the ocean. There was a blanket on the ground with a basket and two candles.
"Wow. How did you find this place?" I looked across the water and watched as people sped across it in their boats. How on Earth are people boating in this freezing weather?
Luke came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and placed his head on my shoulder.
"Well when you were ignoring me, I tried to find a place where I could think and I just stumbled across this beauty."
"Yah sorry about that." I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Don't be, I deserved it." He pressed his forehead against mine.
His lips gently pressed against mine, the cold of his lip ring contrasting to the warmth of his mouth. The kiss was slow, not needy or hot, but pleasurable. He was treating me like I would break at the slightest touch.
He pulled away all too soon and dragged me to the blanket.
"Hungry?"
"Is that some kind of trick question?" I gave him a fake confused look and reached for the basket.
We sat and talked as we ate, nothing special just casual conversation.
"Wait you did what?!" Luke nearly spat out his soda from laughing so hard.
"Yah I peed myself right in front of my crush. Let's just say I have ignored him since then." We were both laughing our heads off from all the embarrassing stories we just shared. Even the most mundane things make me feel closer to him.
"Oh look the sun is going down." I pointed out across the water and leaned back against Luke's chest, pulling one of the spare blankets across our bodies to try and warm up.
"Thank you, Luke. I needed this."
"Don't thank me, we both needed this."
We sat in silence as we watched the sunset. It wasn't an awkward silence, but a comfortable one. Thoughts were going through both of our heads. Mine were of him. His, I hoped, were about me.
___________
I figured that would be a nice place to leave off. No cliffhangers no drama. Just ahhhhhhhh.
Anyway, tell me what you thought. It means the world to me when you guys comment.
