Katherine
"Kitty, you can be cat woman!" Ian yells out, his eyes slightly droopy with a grin pasted across his face. I would have laughed at his cute expression if it wasn't for the fact that I was already glaring at one specific nerd currently seated awkwardly in my living room. He was avoiding my eyes making it easier for me to imagine bashing a sledgehammer into his head.
"Let's become superheroes! Archie, you can be batman! And Kitty can be cat woman and I shall be superman, the best of them all." Ian states, puffing out his chest as he grabs me by the wrist and pulls me to get up but instead ends up falling on me and onto the old dusty chair.
"Listen buddy, I think you should sleep." I gently tell Ian, holding him by his shoulders but he squirms and quickly stands up, giving me a wide eyed disbelieving look before his face suddenly turns up in determination and he shakes his head roughly, flailing his arms along with it.
"I'm not going to sleep unless you both play with me. No way. Archie, come on, you want to play with me, don't you?" Four eyes seems hesitant to reply as he keeps fidgeting in his place but when he looks up at Ian's puppy dog eyes, I can see his resolve fade as he nods at me, his eyes slightly hardening towards me.
I narrow my eyes at him but without warning, Ian jumps onto my lap, making me let out an 'oof' as I quickly grab his tiny waist so he won't fall backwards. He lets out a squeaky giggle.
"Please Kitty, please. Just once. Just this once. Once once once" I open my mouth to protest but he quickly covers my mouth with his hand as he keeps repeating the word 'once'. His pupils clearly dilated behind his glasses.
"Fine, once." I finally answer; a bit irritated because I can feel the tiredness spreading through my body and I just want to collapse but the smile that breaks out my little brother's face makes some of the annoyance I am feeling fade away. He jumps off and in a second rushes up the stairs, only to return with a headband with cat ears, probably left from one of the Halloweens I dressed up as cat woman. And in his other hand is one of Mom's black shawls. When he hands Archer the shawl, telling him to wrap it like a cape, I notice the two masks in his hand.
Dad had always loved the whole superheroes thing and even got Tyler addicted to it but they always had the argument regarding DC comics versus Marvel. Tyler worshipped Stan Lee. Dad always got us to dress up as superheroes on Halloweens and I would adore being cat woman since dad would say my name went with it.
I blink a bit as I feel an on slaughter of tears and take the masks, however Archer has to make do with a green mask since it is from Dad's Arrow costume. I grin as I realized how if he was here he would have joked about Archer's name being related to the whole Arrow thing.
Okay no more thoughts of him. No freaking way I am going to reminisce and cry my eyes out in front of these two, especially the nerd. I do have a reputation to uphold.
"It's alright, Archie, the green suits you. Just think of it as black." Ian mentions as we put on the stuff he gave us, jumping from one foot to the other as if he can't stay in one place. The band is considerably tight and I am pretty sure it is going to break if my head was even slightly bigger, the pressure of it behind my ears, annoying me a bit.
For the next half hour, we both do what Ian asks us to. His giggling the loudest sound in the house as he runs from one room to other, his hand fisted as he pretends to be superman, jumping from one couch to other while I and Archer follow him into it.
I would never say it out loud but I feel happiness bubble up inside me as I actually enjoy myself doing the silly reenactment of defeating the bad guy which is my old and battered life size teddy bear. I don't even know how Ian found it.
During our couch leaps, Archer trips and lands on his back, making me burst out laughing which only increases when he painfully groaned. Ian stands in his place, his dramatic expression making me snicker even more so. His eyes are full on open in concern with his hands covering his mouth as he stares at Archer in worry.
I look at the said nerd to find him staring at me with a weird expression. I feel a slight blush cover my face but before anyone can see, especially him, I stick out my hand for him to take and look away. I help him up and collapse onto the couch, squeezing my eyes shut after taking off the mask and band.
"You need to kiss him."
What?!
I look up to see Ian has spoken, his eyes darting from me to Archer.
"You are cat woman, you have to kiss batman if he gets hurt." He's bobbing in his place, a smirk clear on his face as he sets his askew glasses straight unlike Archer's whose glasses, well, actually whole appearance turns even more disheveled looking as he shoots me a weird look, his eyes lingering on my lips and without realizing it, my tongue darts out, running over my dry lips. His eyes travel towards my eyes, a blush creeping up his neck and even my cheeks burn a little under his gaze.
Oh hell no, don't even think about kissing him.
Too late. Fuck, stop thinking of those thoughts.
Snap out of it, Katherine, snap out of it.
"Hilarious, Ian." I cut in, my voice sharp and harsh, opposite of my mental thoughts. "Not happening."
Ian jumps down, making his way towards me with a mad look in his eyes. The anger in his eyes matching very much my usual one.
"I am not sleeping until you kiss." Even though he is trying to make himself sound commanding, I can easily spot the growing smirk on his supposedly innocent face. "So kiss. Now!"
"Okay, wow, now he seems like your brother." Archer says, looking at us both with a weirdly amused yet slightly worried look.
Well duh, he's worried. If Ian turns into me, he'll be even worse. But no way is that happening.
"Shut up." I sneer at him, making his face turn down into a scowl. "This is your fault."
"My fault? My fault! Are you crazy? Who in this bloody world keeps druggie stupid brownies in their house?" He tangles his hands in his hair in frustration which makes me want to kiss and punch him at the same time.
Mostly the former.
"Nerd boy, one, they are known as hash brownies and second, almost every fucked up teenager in this world. And I'm the definition of a fucked up teenager." I hadn't realize how close I had gotten to him while my sentences until out of nowhere there is a hand tangled in my hair and my lips crash into a set of very soft ones.
One of my hands comes up to sift through his messy mop of soft hair while another cupped the back of his neck, pushing him more into me. My lips move feverishly against his, and his are equally rough. Something I had not expected from a nerd but it doesn't mean it's bad. God, no.
It's like we are challenging each other, daring who can kiss rougher, better. And My body is shivering from the effect he is having on me, our heartbeats erratic. He makes a guttural sound which makes me push myself closer to him.
"Oh god, I meant a peck! Oh god, my eyes, my eyes, stop!" Ian suddenly screams and we both tear apart as if we have been tasered. I look at Ian to see him pushing his face into one of the cushions and repeatedly saying 'oh god'.
Oh fuck, what did I do?
Oh nothing, just scarred your kind of high little brother by kind of making out with a nerd in front of him.
