Mrs Mina's POV
There I am, laying her body on the stretcher.
Yes I am scared, of course I am. I don't know why she fainted, I don't know why she refused the food in my lesson, and she loves food?
Then it hit me, she wasn't eating.
How on earth could I be so stupid?
"Ma'am until her parent gets here; could you accompany Amy to the hospital?" The paramedic asks.
"Of course I will, I will just have to get cover for my lessons" I respond.
Here I am now riding in an ambulance to the local hospital next to my unconscious German student.
She was connected to so many different machines I couldn't help but be scared for her.
Yes I don't know her that well, I have taught her for three years though.... I should have acted when she said she wasn't hungry. Something wasn't right.
Soon enough I can see the hospital is in view and Amy promptly goes through a series of routine tests.
One of her doctors comes over to me:
"Ma'am, Amy fell unconscious because she had dangerous blood sugar levels, was she eating?" The doctor asks.
"I obviously don't know her outside our german lessons, but yes she was refusing food in my lesson which in the three years I have known her is out of the ordinary" I answer.
"We are going to put her in the Eating Disorder clinic until she gains enough weight to be healthy again, and judging of her weight that could be a few months to a year" The doctor explains.
An eating disorder clinic... why didn't I talk to Amy when she refused the food... I know she said she was sick but I can tell when someone is lying. I guess I was trying to convince myself there was nothing to worry about.
