Ash's P.O.V.
"Alright everybody! Pack up all of your stuff we're not moving into a house just yet but we are gonna rent a townhouse in a town named Hector." My dad Oliver yelled from downstairs.
"Okay!" We all yelled back to him.
I gathered my blackberry phone and charger and placed it in the first pouch in my bright blue suitcase. Next I packed all the clothes that fit. I threw out the ones that didn't fit, and the ones I hated cause they made me look like a little kid.
My mom packed all of our toothbrushes, me and Bree's pony tail holders, along with any medication we needed. My dad packed up all of his cooking supplies and all of his and my moms clothes. All of my siblings packed their own things and after 4 hours we were ready to leave. We took no furniture with us since our stuff was trash anyways. The furniture in our rental townhouse would be our until we could find a house, then we'll have to go furniture shopping all over again.
"Bye bye house!" Lilly said waving to it from the car window.
I laughed at Lilly. She always was the cute one. Her voice was a little babyish but I could tell she wasn't faking it.
Our car picked up speed and we left the driveway slowly as we watched the house disappear from our view. Bree was complaining about how she had to switch schools for her last year of high school.
"I was supposed to be having the time of my life this year graduating with all of my friends!"
"Bree, that's what college is for trust me. More than ninety-five percent of the friends you meet in high school are fake friends anyways. It's all about popularity in twelfth grade anyways."
"But mom! I loved my friends I met in tenth grade!"
"Bree." I said. "Let's face it they were totally using you just so they could be popular like you were."
Her face turned sad and she looked away out the window without replying to me. Christopher was on his phone tweeting something about Jennifer Lawrence. As usual he was up to something no one in my family could quite comprehend.
Lilly sat quietly in her car seat listening to music from the radio. She swung her legs up and down and watched them as if they were the most interesting things in the world. My mom was fast asleep in the passengers seat and my dad was driving singing to the song on the radio from the group Maroon Five.
I really didn't mind the fact that we were moving. I had one friend back at my old school but as times changed she became super popular when her fathers business got super popular and forgot about me so I moved on from her as well. My eyes felt heavy. My watch read 11:24am and soon I was drifting off into a deep sleep as our car made a soft thud sound while we drove down the road to a town called Hector.
---------
I woke up to sun glimmering on my eyelids. I opened them slowly and watched the sun setting down over the horizon. All around me was farm land stretching as far as I could see.
"Mom are we there yet?" Lilly asked playing with her toy pony on her lap.
"Almost honey. Just 10 more minutes."
"According to my calculations it will be exactly 8 minutes and 53 seconds until we arrive at the townhouse." Christopher said.
"In the time it took you to say that about three seconds went by." Bree said filing her nails.
"Two point seven seconds to be exact." Christopher replied smiling wickedly.
"Bree can we cut it with the sarcasm for at least a few minutes?" I asked.
"Oh shut up sleepy head. You've been sleeping for over six hours and missed most of my sarcasm already."
"Well I'm sure lucky I barely slept last night so I didn't have to hear it."
"Cut it both of you!" My dad said.
"We're here!" My mom shouted to distract us from our fighting.
We pulled up to a tiny brown brick townhouse that looked better than anything we have ever owned. But then I remembered we didn't own it. We were just renting it.
"So do you guys like it?" Mom asked.
"The outside is nice, but before we make any decisions let's have a look inside." Dad said.
I opened the door and felt a wave of dizziness wafting over me until I fell and blacked out for what felt like the end of me.
