Ash's/Raven's P.O.V.
Apparently after checking the calendar beside me the year here is 1948. My estimate of it being 1950 was pretty close but I still had no idea how to get back to the present time in 2014. There were no cell phones here and even if I could call Christopher or someone in my family there would be no way that would be able to happen. They don't exist yet. My mom and dad and were born in the early 1960's so I was stuck until I found out.
I tucked the dress under my butt and sat down on my bed with a squeak and was in the middle of brainstorming when someone entered my room. He was wearing a cream white tux and black shinny dress shoes and looked my age. Along with his dashing outfit was cold pale white skin. His mortified expression on his face made him look as though he had just watched someone get murdered.
"M-Madam Raven... Your mother wishes to see you in the kitchen..." He spoke softly as though his words would shatter if he spoke any higher.
"Thank you, Eren." I said without hesitation. Eren bowed his head to me and walked out of the room without another word.
"Wait..." I muttered to myself. "How did I know his name?" I pondered my thoughts yet I found no answer no matter how long I wondered there. I shook the thought out of my head and told myself to focus. Apparently I needed to go to the kitchen to talk to my "mother"
I walked to the kitchen past the cement walls. The house I was in seemed pretty large for the most part given the fact that it took over five minutes for me to get to the kitchen. There were older men dressed in fancy tuxes and bowed in unison whenever they saw me. When I arrived in the dining room I found a man standing with his arm wrapped around a woman. They seemed young. In their mid thirties possibly but still looked sharp appearance wise. The woman had long black hair, silver eyes and was dressed in a fancy pink silk dress along with white heels. She got up and walked over to me slowly. Her heels clicked against the floor with a sharp sound that made my ears ring. When she was close enough she placed a firm hand on my shoulder and looked at me with eyes that could kill.
"Raven." She asked me. "Where were you last night at curfew?" Automatically words came out of my mouth that I had no control of. "I was at Violet's house mother." I said. On the inside I felt extremely confused with what I just said but my expression on the outside stayed emotionless and blank. Who was Violet and did I just call this lady my mother? She faced me with a strict look and slapped my face. I felt a sting in my cheek but it seemed familiar, like it had happened many times before. I looked at her again straight in the eyes and breathed heavily, holding back the temptation to knock that smile right off her face and kick her ass literally. The man that stood beside her looked lividly at me. He was dressed in a black outfit that made him look very proper with a menacing sharp pointed face, brown hair and wicked yellowish green eyes he looked like the Devils son, and apparently I was the Devils daughter. "RAVEN LENNCA!" He beckoned. "DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED THIS WEEK?" His shout echoed through my body and probably half way down the street. I shook my head yes and he drew his knife right away. "Father, you wouldn't." I said feeling myself smile for an unknown reason. Apparently he was my father."Oh yes you trouble maker I would." He charged at me full blast and I instantly jumped up out of his reach, and landed on the dining table. His fully raging furry caused a loud scream to echo across the dining hall but my father charged at me again, only failing again when I flipped off the table behind him and kicked his legs making him fall. "I WILL NOT LET YOU SET A BAD EXAMPLE FOR THIS CITY!" He roared at me. This time he pinned me against the wall and drew the knife across my neck making a small slit. Blood started to trickle down the blade. What's going on here? I thought to myself is this all really happening? My answer came seconds later when I realized that no one was trying to stop him. Not the supposed maid, or butler, not even my mother. "I AM THE MAYOR OF THIS TOWN AND I WILL MAKE YOU A PERFECT EXAMPLE FOR EVERYONE IN THIS CITY." I ignored the fact that I could feel blood running down my chest and kneed him in the stomach causing him to drop the blade directly into my outstretched hand. Without control in what I was doing I dashed out of the room at lightning speed back up to my room. I heard the faint calling of my mother calling to get the butler to capture me but I fled anyway.
I reached my room a minute later, breathless and collapsed onto the floor beside my bed. What is happening to me?! I gripped onto my long straw colored hair and shook it in frustration.
Alright Ash. Calm down. Since I have no control over this persons body or whatever is going to happen next I just need to wait until she does something then we will see if I can gain control from there.
Suddenly I reached under my bed and heaved out a heavy bag. Lifting it out onto my lap I sifted through the continents. A pocket knife, a grappling hook, a wrist watch, bread, canned peaches and other can goods that didn't need to be cooked, bandages, eighteen sets of extra clothes, apples, oranges, a small mirror, a comb, and at least three hundred dollars. I heard someone walking up the stairs and without even realizing what was happening I jumped out the window onto a nearby tree with the bag swung over my shoulder. A few branches swiped at my arms leaving scrapes and a stinging feeling of happiness.
I heard my mother yelling from the window to get a search party on the lookout for me. I smiled uncontrollably knowing deep in my heart that she wouldn't never be able to find me and I wouldn't have to be their little pet anymore.
After waiting for almost two hours I climbed down from the tree carefully and placed my two feet on the ground with no more than a tiny creak. I made sure the coast was clear then hurried off through the bushes until I reached a tall wall. I looked around and after I was sure no one was around I unzipped my bag and got the grappling hook. With all of my remaining strength I threw it over the wall until it got caught on the top. I slung the bag over my shoulder and cloned the rope, over the wall.
"One step down, only a million more to go." I said to myself.
I felt someone shaking me. I looked around but no one was there. Suddenly someone was there. Christopher was shaking me harshly to the point where I felt like a bobble head.
"Ash! Ash!"
"C-Christopher! Did you see that too?" I shouted waking up instantly.
"W-what do you m-mean?" He said. "I didn't see anything but you lying so deeply asleep that I thought you were dead!" He said startled. "Come on Ash! Tell me what happened!" He insisted. "It could lead me to the mysteries of this town!"
"Chris." I said slowly. "There are no mysteries to this town, and nothing happened in the dream... I-it was just a weird... Really weird hallucination that's all. Come on let's go home." I said trying to change the subject.
"But Ash..." He said. "You were screaming... It's like... You felt something in that dream like pain, or fear." Looking at me with wide eyes that I couldn't ignore.
"I-I... I have no explanation for that..." I said. Honestly why would I have been screaming? I wasn't screaming in the dream, and I wasn't screaming when I woke up either.
"Let's go get some ice cream at home. Honestly I'm starting to miss the way you used to eat everything in the house at home. You seem like you've lost a few pounds from just not eating enough to Chris. I'm scared for you." I said looking at him sadly but looked away fast trying to shake the emotions off my face.
"O-okay I'll promise to eat more if you promise to tell me anything that happens in your dreams. Deal?" He asked me holding out his hand for me to shake. "Promise." I said shaking out my hand while holding the other behind my back and crossed my fingers.
