Alice's P.O.V. (Aka: Mom)
"Oliver." I said quietly so we wouldn't wake up the children.
"What is it?" He said with his attention pointed towards the big TV screen. He was engrossed in the evening news which in my opinion was just a man or woman telling you "good evening." Then giving you millions of reasons why it's not.
"We need to get out of here as soon as possible I was thinking that in three days we could get out of here-"
"Hun, the kids are having a great time here. I overheard Lilly, Ash, and Christopher talking outside by the tree swings today. Christopher told Lilly that we were leaving in a few weeks and she was crushed. Imagine how much she will cry if we tell her we have to leave in three days."
"I... I guess you're right..." I admitted.
"Don't get me wrong I want to sort of leave as well because we are so broke we can't buy good ingredients so for the first time in years we've had to resort to fast food."
"Yeah but the kids think it's a good change."
"Well of course they will, until they get fat." He said laughing.
"Oliver!" I screeched.
"Shh with that much noise you'll wake up the entire neighborhood."
"Hmph." I said turning away from him and tried to fall asleep.
"I'm sorry for being rude but I just miss my family's reaction to an amazing breakfast every morning. Now all we can do is go to iHop or Mc Donald's for breakfast. Lately when we do eat at home all I can make is eggs and ramen. That's literally all we have left. Every time the kids want a snack we have to give them five dollars and tell them to walk to the gas station around the corner of town. I know this place is getting expensive. Let's just hold on a little longer. I'm getting the job at the bistro as soon as tomorrow so don't worry, it'll be okay."
"A-alright. We'll hold this place for as long as we can..."
Ash's P.O.V.
"Hey brat. Hey wake up."
"What do you want Bree." I muttered tugging the bed sheets over my head.
"It's 12:17 in the afternoon. Aren't you gonna get up and do something today?" She asked me.
"What is there to do exactly? This town isn't that huge so there's not many places to go. We shouldn't visit stores because we have no money left and we can't afford to buy anything. I'd go swimming but I'm really hungry and we have nothing in the fridge to eat literally. Basically I can't function on an empty stomach and there's no reason to move from where I'm laying right now so I think I'll just stay here all day."
Bree was barely paying attention to what I was saying. She was on her Samsung phone looking something up on the Internet.
"Bree." I muttered. "Listen to meee."
"No you should be listening to me I'm older than you." She sassed back.
"Well why did you even come on here if you're just gonna be on your phone?"
"Because... Your room has the best wifi connection..."
"I... I don't even know where to start just get the fuck out of here..."
"Fine fine calm your tits." She said. "Oh wait, you don't have any." She laughed to herself.
"Well at least I don't show them off for attention like someone I know does."
"S-shut up brat." Bree blushed and slammed the door behind her.
"Hehe can't deny the truth now can you." I kicked my covers around. I felt like I was dying from boredom. There was nothing to do here besides sit and rot or wait for food. It was lunch time and not one member of my family had eaten today. None of were allowed to because we couldn't afford to spend one more penny. Meanwhile my dad had gotten the job at the expensive looking bistro a few miles away from our townhouse and after talking to his boss for over two hours he finally got him to give in and got permission to get his paycheck today. I guess my dad wasn't lying when he said he got a good pay at that place. After he comes home today we will have 3,525 more dollars in our bank account and that's only his weekly salary.
Yep. Soon we were gonna be rich I guess. I wonder how it'll feel to be the rich kid when school starts. I think we'll become popular fast given the fact that we are all so unique. Lilly with her pretty green eyes and dazzling red blonde hair along with the fact she was as pretty as a Barbie doll. Christopher with blonde hair, green eyes and the power to rule the Internet world. Bree with her brown hair, blue eyes and the perfect body to make any boy blush. Lastly me... The girl with black and red hair along with green emerald eyes... I have no talents so I'm sure I'll be the least popular...
Christopher's P.O.V.
I looked at that old news report on Gretchen Poliper again. That's all I had been doing all day because even if I looked calm and connected on the outside, on the inside I just couldn't stop wondering about what happened to her. After two more hours of more searching I finally found something.
After Gretchen Poliper was released from the hospital her parents soon had no memory of her. Weeks later they kicked her out and claimed that she was a stranger who they had never seen before. No ones quite sure if her parents didn't want to believe they were related to her after the accident or if they were serious and had forgotten her. Gretchen soon went to a girls foster care center for a year and her old condition had gotten so bad she disappeared one night without a trace of where she had went. The foster care owner proved to our news crew that she had cameras all over the foster home but not one had seen her disappear. Along with the cameras were also home security monitors on every door and window in the home. Who would've known that something as simple as a house had caused a girl to disappear without leaving any tracks behind?
The search continues...
"Oh crap." Christopher whispered to himself. "Oh god no..."
Then for the first time ever, Christopher had started to cry. Of course when one good thing happened to them like when their dad got the bistro job, another bad thing came to take its place like Gretchen Polipers house.
"W-we're all doomed..." I muttered to myself in between sobs. "We're all in trouble..."
