Time Passes
Lamaze class was horrible. Seeing all the happy married couples while she had her sister Maggie as her coach hurt. When some of them gave her cold glares she wasn't sure if it was because they thought she was the whore of Babylon for being a soon-to-be single mother or that they thought her and Maggie were a lesbian couple. The worst thing of living in the Bible Belt was how so many are closed-minded.
Beth was told her labor was going to take a long time. Her water had broken but she was not nearly dilated enough for delivery. As she walked around the hospital floors she heard a voice she never thought she'd hear again.
"Well who told ya ta get wasted and fix tha hole in tha roof?!" Daryl shouted at a bitching Merle. Daryl stormed out of the room and almost ran into a very pregnant Beth.
Daryl looked shocked at seeing her first and then seemed to look shocked at seeing that she was pregnant. Then his eyes had gotten real cold.
"Well you didn't waste any time, didja?" Daryl asked sarcastically.
"Are you serious?!" Beth shouted. "You ignore the message I left on your cell telling you we're having a baby and then you have the nerve to act like you don't know your the father?! A message I had to leave because you'd never answer the phone when I called you!"
"Shit," Merle said under his breath, but Daryl heard him.
"You erased her message?!" Daryl raged at Merle. "That's it! I'm done with you! Imma go back to Beth! Back where I belong!"
"You really mean that Daryl? You're gonna be with me and help me raise our child?" Beth asked.
"'Course I am," Daryl told her. "I made a mistake leavin' ya and I ain't gonna make the same mistake again."
"Good," Beth said, wincing at a sharp contraction. "Cause our baby is ready to make it's debut."
