It had been a few months since baby Amelia was born.  Beth and Daryl have decided to quietly marry at the courthouse.  Hershel had bought Beth and Daryl a piece of property and whenever he isn't working at Dale's garage he was working on building their house.

Currently Beth is fidgeting in a booth at the diner Merle had asked her to meet him at.  She was early, and she was nervous.  Daryl hadn't spoken to Merle since the hospital and every time Beth told him he should give him a call, Daryl would always say, "Not until he apologizes to you."

It did hurt her that she had to go through her pregnancy alone.  It angered her when she found out one ill received phone call could have changed everything.  But now, Beth realizes everything was how it should be.  Besides, Maggie had pointed out that if Daryl had gotten the call and rushed to help her through her pregnancy, she might always wonder if that was the only reason he returned to her.

Beth started to feel a little guilty, meeting Merle behind Daryl's back and all.  So she sent him a quick text.

B: Meeting Merle at the diner.

D: Why?

B: He asked me to meet him.  Maybe he wants to apologize.

D: Well if he does tell him he could work off his apology to me by helpin' me build this dang house

B: Lol will do.  Love you.

D: Love you too baby!

Amelia began getting fussy so Beth had given her the bottle she had in the diaper bag.

"She ain't on the tit?" Beth heard Merle say.  She cringed.  She had not been in his company many times, but Daryl had warned her plenty of times of how crude he could be.

"It's breast milk," Beth said.

"So, um, I'm sorry," Merle said.  "Thought you were tryin' to trap him.  I's knew it was dumb even then fer me ta try ta keep him from ya.  He's all I got and I's didn't want him ta just ferget about me."

"Merle, your his brother," Beth said.  "He doesn't want you to go away.  In fact, he wanted to know if you wanted to help him with our house that he's building for us.

"Awlright," Merle said.

After they ate their lunch and left, Merle had texted Daryl about meeting him Saturday morning to work on the house.  Not a day goes by that Daryl doesn't thank his lucky starts that Merle fell off of that roof.  For if he hadn't Daryl might've never known about Amelia and he wouldn't have a beautiful wife, adorable baby girl and have the happiness he never thought he'd have in his life.
