Exodus 34:5-8
The people had turned against God and went against the commandments which were only just ceated .
A compassionate God
He genuinely loves us and has a tenderness towards us
A gracious God
He does things for people they do not deserve and goes beyond his comfort to care for us
When we are stressed, we run to our worldly posessions. We idolise the things in our lives and lose focus of God.
But God wants us to return to him
Psa 103:8
He suffers when we suffer
He weeps for his people and weeps for them. He cries out for pur hearts because we are so full of sin. He l9ngs for us to turn back to him.
He loves us so much that it pains him to see us suffer far away from him. No matter the situation, he says i am with you and calls us to resp9nd to Him.
compassion leads to action
God's compassion causes him to actively help us in our situation. He doesn't feel compassion and stand by the sidelines and feel compassion for us. He interceeds and actively intervenes in our situation.
