Rio had planned the perfect night. She had booked a table at Agatha's favorite restaurant a month in advance for her, and had picked out her best outfit for the occasion.

She spent hours choosing the perfect ring for her. She lied to Agatha that she was going to the local farmer's market, but instead, she was in the best jewelers in town with cash in her hand, looking for the perfect ring that would seal them together for eternity.

Rio was very, very anxious when the day finally arrived. She was afraid she'd throw up all across the table and onto Agatha before they had even ordered. She held the small box in her pocket of her suit, shaking her knee.

Agatha seemed oblivious to her actions as she looked through the menu, squinting through her glassed, "Ugh, I spent 12$ making that last week, and they're charging 20$ for it. Scammers."

Rio laughed, looking up from her own menu, "It's on me tonight, don't even look at the prices."

Agatha shook her head, "That's not the point, I could charge cheaper!"

Another chuckle escaped Rio's lips as she shook her head, "I think I'll get the Dolmades for a starter."

Agatha hummed in approval, "I'm definitely getting the Saganaki. It's very filling but I've made sure not to eat anything the whole day."

Rio chose a vegetarian steak meal for her main, and Agatha chose a pasta with Vodka cream sauce. For their dessert, they chose to share a chocolate lava cake.

Agatha ordered for them both, and despite how many customers there were, their starters came very quickly. Saganaki had always been Agatha's favorite, yet she still made sure to share half with Rio.

Two hours passed smoothly, as the pair finished off their dessert. Now, Rio's nerves were absolutely skyrocketing. She bit her lip, looking up at Agatha who smiled gently at her.

"What's up with you?"

Rio smiled nervously, "Nothing, I'm okay."

Agatha looked suspicious and crossed her arms, not believing her but not prying either. That was, until Rio shifted suddenly.

She froze for a good few seconds, but managed to start talking. "Agatha... I never thought that I would ask anyone this but uhm..." She fumbled with her pocket, and pulled out the box while opening it, "You are the only person I have ever looked at with pure love and adoration. I want to seal that fate with you, Agatha."

She paused.

"Will you marry me?"

"...I- Rio... I can't."

Rio held her breath, sweat forming on her forehead, not really knowing what to say to her. She pulled the box away, and nodded, her eyes glassy. "Okay."

Agatha herself was also teary. She stood up, and quickly walked out of the building. Everything happened so fast. She felt too nervous, and everything felt blurry. The tears ran down her face before she could even help it.

She held the box, with the ring that will now never be worn by the woman she loved.

Running away from your problems doesn't make them go away.

That's why, after sitting in her chair for ten minutes, she stood up and headed outside to find Agatha.

She made her way to the balcony, and turned a corner which made her walk straight in to Agatha. Before she could even apologize, Agatha pulled Rio to her lips, kissing her as she sobbed quietly.

"I'm sorry. I panicked." She sniffled, "I don't- I don't know what's wrong with me."

Rio shook her head, wiping Agatha's tears away, "Don't apologize."

Agatha quickly shook her head, grabbing her handbag which was on her shoulder, and pulled out a small box of her own. Through her tears, she stepped away from Rio and got down on her knee.

"I've been holding onto this ring for more than a year." Her voice cracked, "Commitment is scary to me, Rio. I've never had someone in my life for long, and I just... Panicked. Will you accept my marriage proposal and act of forgiveness?"

Rio's lip trembled, as she lifted Agatha back up, wrapping her arms around her, nodding her head into her shoulder. "I will."

They shared another kiss, filled with relief and longing. Rio took out her own ring, and slid it onto Agatha's finger which glowed green at the contact. Agatha chuckled, taking hers and putting it on Rio's finger, which glowed purple in return.

In the end, one way or another, they were meant to be together till the end of time.
