Arazu POV
"Now aim toward that tree and try again!" I shouted at Esula. Celest was standing to the side, waiting for her turn. It's been five days since Stea-chan and I let the Kumo sisters stay temporarily in our house. School starts soon and I've been teaching Esula and Celest how to level up and control their powers. Stea-chan tells me about their progress.
I watched as Esula focused on a tree in front of her and recited the simple spell I taught her. Her hands started to glow and a trident appeared. She pointed it at the tree and yelled, "That is our enemy! Eliminate it!" The trident moved on its own and Esula grabbed it. A wave of water spiraled to a point on the tree, leaving a hand-sized hole in the middle of the tree. As expected of an empress. Empresses are known to learn quickly and level up faster than other magical beings can.
"Alright good job Esula. That's it for today. We're gonna start on some defensive spells tomorrow. You go on with Stea-chan to learn about your power some more. I'll work with Celest then she will join you. I'll make dinner soon, too," I barked out, "Come on Celest. It's your turn!" Celest bounded over. She has been really excited about learning magic. "Alright. So yesterday, you learned how to heal plants and the day before you learned a simple offensive spell, am I correct?" I asked.
Celest stood up straight and said, "Hai!"
I smiled, "Okay then. How about you try to heal this poor tree?"
She nodded then put out her hands and closed her eyes. I taught her to imagine whatever she's healing happy and alive. Celest bent down and green and pink swirls appeared in her hands. The swirls wrapped around the tree trunk and slowly, the hole in the tree closed in. I started the timer in my hand.
It took her a good two minutes to completly fix the hole, but she'll work on speeding it up later. After she got up, I said, "In battle when you are leveled up enough to heal people, you can't take your time. We will speed it up today." I paused, "I'll damage it and you have to think of me as an enemy and the tree your sister. Okay?"
"But-" She started.
I interrupted, "No buts you have to speed it up." I clapped my hands together and transformed into a fox. "Think of what I did to the tree and how much you hate me right now- Just do it!" I added when she was about to object. I scrambled into the tree and found a nice spot to attack. "Fox Claw no. 2. Activate!" I whispered loudly. I felt the hard material wrap around my paw. I held it up and drove it straight down the tree. Then I leaped out of the tree and changed back into a human. The tree was still for a few seconds, then a crack appeared straight down the trunk and it collapsed into two parts.
Celest screamed in surprise. "Heal it!" I said, a bit harshly. She looked at me wide-eyed then clamped her mouth shut and held out her hands. She worked her magic and- timer start. The tree began to grow back and every splinter floated back to when it was. Celest finished and panted. Wow. fifty seconds this time. Must have drained her. "Sorry Celest. Do you wanna skip lessons with Stea-chan today? You can take a nap while I fix dinner," I apologized.
Her answer was sudden, "We're done already?"
"You're tired. I doubt you would be able to heal anything else today. Get some good sleep and we will work on defense tomorrow with Esula."
"Alright then. But I won't skip lessons with Stea-chan." She said, determined.
Good. She isn't the kind to give up. "Okay. Go join your sister then. She may not be done with her private lessons but you can take your private lessons with Stea-chan after dinner, Okay?" I suggested.
She nodded and ran inside.
"You can come out now," I said to the bushes. The bushes moved and a turtle waddled out. "Neechan," I added.
Time Skip----- Three weeks later-----
"Noodles for dinner!" I yelled from the kitchen. I smiled. Three, Two, On-
"Mine first!"
"I got here before you!"
"No you didn't! You cheated!"
"Hmph! You just tripped on the carpet!"
"You used-"
I cut Esula and Celest off, "Stea-chan and I are getting ours first."
"Awwww.." They both answered.
After Stea-chan got here, we all started eating. "Yum! Aru-chan this is delicious!" Celest said after the first bite.
"Thanks!" I answered, "School starts tomorrow, you know."
Esula and Celest both froze. "Do we have to move out?" Esula asked.
"Of course not! I was just leaning toward the question of are you guys ready?"
"We don't know. Steacho-chan hasn't scanned us since we came.
"Esula Kumo. Power level: 24. Celest Kumo. Power level: 23," Stea-chan said.
"Congrats!" You made it in!" I said.
Celest didn't care that Esula was ahead of her. I got a nice pair here. I can't stop thinking about when Neechan came to warn me. She's a turtle shape-shifter and also has a special gift of fortune telling. Quite an interesting pair you've got here. They are going to drag you into some trouble someday. I warned you, she had said. I sighed. I shouldn't be thinking about that right now. "You guys need to get a good nights sleep tonight. The exam is tomorrow. You will all do great, but still, get some rest.
"Okay!" They both answered.
We all finished up dinner and got to bed early. Tomorrow.. I thought as I crawled up to my room. I hope they'll do okay..
