Chapter Two

Bailey's POV~

I smiled and looked up at Wesley as he jumped up from sitting.

"Sounds great," I said, agreeing to go to dinner with him. He jogged away back into the water to where his friends were at. I felt butterflies in my stomach. Why was I feeling this way? I've never really been attracted to anyone to the point where I get butterflies, and I'm 18! I checked my phone to see what time it was, 4:36. Crap! I had to get home and get ready. I gathered my things and started walking home. In a matter of a minute, I was at my new apartment. The movers had already gone, thankfully. I stepped into the apartment and there were stacks of boxes everywhere. 'Great,' I thought to myself. How am I supposed to get ready? I remembered that I packed a separate suitcase with a few clothes and toiletries. I grabbed the bag out of my car and headed upstairs. I hopped in the shower, changed into some jeans, put on a nice, lacy, white tank top. I put on some light mascara and headed back downstairs. I slipped my white flip flops on and plopped on the couch. I checked my phone, 6:50. He should be here any minute. I started to get butterflies again. Ugh, I hated this feeling! But I loved it at the same time.

'Ding Dong'

I sprang from the couch and headed over to the door. I swung it open. I felt like the wind got knocked out of me. He was wearing a white, form fitting tshirt, jeans, red vans and a red snapback. Typical skater boy outfit, but he still looked really cute.

"Hi," he said, nervously.

"Hey," I said back, trying to sound casual.

"You look great," he said, finally breaking the silence.

"Thanks, I guess you do too," I said, watching his expression change. I threw out a quick laugh to let him know I was kidding.

"Should we go?" I asked, starting to become more nervous.

"Yeah," he turned and walked to his car as I followed him from behind. I hoped this would be a good night.

Wesley's POV~

I turned off my car and headed up to her front door. I rang the doorbell and started to get butterflies in my stomach. I really wanted to get to know this girl and I hope that everything would go well tonight. She swung the door open and right away I had to catch my breath. She was truly beautiful, even though she wasn't "dressed up." She was dressed casual but still in a way to where it looked nice. I loved it.

"Hi,"I said shyly.

I was never nervous around girls, I always liked to take charge. But Bailey was different, I was so nervous around her, I couldn't shake it. But she didn't seem that nervous around me, which kind of made me disappointed. Maybe she didn't like me as much as I liked her.

"Hey,"she said back, confidently.

We walked out to my car and she got into the passenger seat. Right as I heard her door close I thought to myself, 'Shit! I didn't open the door for her. Maybe she thinks I don't have manners or something.' I started to become even more nervous because I felt like I had already screwed up. 'Shake it off,' I told myself. 'You're fine, she probably didn't even notice.'

She finally broke the silence by asking how old I was.

"19," I replied.

"What about you?" I asked back.

"18. So, you're in college right?" she asked, showing her beautiful smile.

I got nervous again, she asked if I go to college. I didn't want to tell her the truth...she would think too low of me.

"Um, not really..." I said, trying to trail off the subject.

"Oh really? Why not? Did you take a year off or something?" she asked, looking puzzled.

Shoot, I had to tell her the truth. She would probably think that it was a dumb decision on my part, just like what everyone else always says.

"I decided not to go to college and focus more on my music career. I know, I know you probably think that's a dumb decision. And I totally get that," I said.

She turned in her seat to where she was completely facing me. A smile grew on her face and my nerves went away.

"That's awesome! Are you in a band?" she asked enthusiastically.

I was stoked that she liked the idea of it.

"Haha, yeah I am. We're called Emblem3. Remember the guys that I was with at the beach?" I asked her.

"Yeah, are they your band mates?" she asked.

"Yep, they are. There's Keaton, my brother, and Drew, my best friend," I told her.

"That's so awesome, and you're so lucky! You basically don't have to go to school anymore. And you get to perform and do cool stuff like that!" At this point, she was basically yelling.

"Yeah, I guess so. We're planning on trying out for XFactor, so hopefully we'll make it into that," I told her.

"No doubt, you guys will make it. I can already tell that you guys are good, and I've never even heard you play," she said. I could tell that she was hinting towards something...

"Well we have a concert on Saturday night, would you wanna come?" I asked her, with my nerves coming back again.

"Of course, I'd love to," she said, smiling.

Finally, we got to the restaurant. I made sure to jog around the car and open her door for her. We walked inside and Drew, Keaton, and their girlfriends were all in the lobby waiting. Bailey shook hands with all of them and they immediately got along well. I was stoked.

The dinner was great and there was constant conversation. We all got up and headed out of the restaurant. Bailey walked ahead with the girls while Drew, Keaton, and I walked a few feet behind.

"So what's happening tonight?" Drew whispered in my ear.

I gave him a weird look and he responded, "Are you gonna try anything?"

I widened my eyes and he winked at me.

"Dude, I just met her like 4 hours ago. And besides, I don't think she'd be down for that," I whispered back in his ear.

"I don't know man, the way she was looking at you at dinner, she wants a little something," Drew informed me.

I never really noticed how she was reacting towards me at dinner. And I guess Drew was right.

I just responded with, "I don't know man, we'll see."
