The next day, I decided to avoid River all together. I mean, how awkward would that be being with him? Especially after that weird flashback dream I had last night. So I went to the skate park alone and decided to have a nice day all to myself. I didn’t go to my usual skate park, because it was literally snowing outside, so I went back to the mall one. The same place my dream took place. Oh well.
When I got there, there wasn’t any one inhabiting it, again. I swear this place is becoming deserted. Better for me then, right?
So I did what I started to do yesterday, to just skate and skate. When I was practicing a few tricks, I saw at the corner of my eye a dark figure approaching me. I ignored it, but it kept coming closer and closer. I stopped skating then, as the figure came up right to my face. Unfortunately, I recognized his face immediately.
“Hey there sweetheart, what’re you up to?” The guy asked. It was the leader of the gang that attacked Luke and I a couple of weeks ago.
“None of your business,” I said, getting up and walking away. He moved in front of me though, blocking my way. “Excuse me, get out of my way.” I said.
“Awh, come on baby, don’t you want to get to know each other?” He said. And before I knew it, the guy was touching me all over. I pressed my hands against his limp chest (for a change) and tried desperately to push him away.
“Ew, get off of me you jerk!” I said, trying to keep him a safe distance.
“Now, now, I thought you were a nice girl?”
“Go away!” I screamed, not getting anywhere. He was still on me, and despite his small frame, he was pretty strong. I could see sweat beads falling down his face gingerly, as if I was causing him an effort.
As soon as he was getting ready to kiss me, I saw him being pulled back by an incredible force. Someone was punching the gang leader in the face. I was too tired to see who it was, but from the looks of it, this guy who was saving my life was beating some sense into the guy.
“She said,” the savior started, packing a few more blows before he continued. “To go away!”
After what seemed to be a few minutes, the gang leader was knocked out cold on the cement floor. What happened went by in a flash. I started to feel weak and violated for some reason, and I wanted it to go away. But I could feel dizziness wash over me. I started to close my eyes, and slowly start to fall.
“Chloe?” The familiar voice said, rushing towards me. I was on the ground now, the cool stone under me sending jolts of bitter algid into my body.
A pair of hands was holding me up by the head, and another under my kneecaps. I think I was being lifted up, I wasn’t sure.
“Chloe, just stay with me okay? Everything’s going to be okay.” The voice said softly, calming me down. I struggled to open my eyes to see who had saved me, but all I got was a pair of worried bright blue eyes, focusing on me.
